Anyone buy an HW97 Blackline and wish they'd bought a K or KT instead?

I've been contemplating buying an HW97 Blackline but saw a video review where they said there was more felt vibration with the hollow synthetic stock than a wood stocked 97.

Anyone out there buy an HW97 Blackline (synthetic thumbhole stock) and wish they'd bought an HW97K (wood stock) or HW97KT (wood thumbhole stock) instead and why?

For anyone who owns a Blackline and another 97 in wood, which do you like better and why?

I already have a 97K set up for 12 fpe Field Target but would like another full power kitted gun with a different scope for long range plinking in the field.

Thanks in advance

I purchased the HW97 Blackline and I'm quite happy with it, I then ordered an HW97L, which is like the K only has a longer barrel 3 inches longer.

These were made for silhouette shooting. Only catch I won't see it until March, but I don't mind waiting. Special order only 3 being made in March. Ordered it from Krale, like all of my HW Rifles. Delivered otherwise in 3 days. Also unknown to some, if you can order 2 rifles, they could come in at the same $47.00 shipping cost.

Yes. I can't do thumbhole stocks, don't like 'em, uncomfortable. So I sold the plastic, bought an OEM beech stock from Pyramyd

. John in Pa. tuned, Rowan Engineering adjustable butt pad, ARH variable power UK kit inside. It's 4 sale.

I have both the KT synthetic and the wood version. The wood is much nicer but the synth is a great "woods" gun that won't scratch as easily and is lighter. The synthetic is most certainly less enjoyable to shoot noise and vibration wise compared to the wood. I addressed this by removing the recoil pad and stuffing the 2 chambers with foam from a rifle case then the last 2 inches or so with duct seal for weight as the synth to me feels a bit front heavy. This both balances the rifle and kills quite a bit of the noise/vibration.

This is a great bit of information, I had no idea this could be done, I have the HW97 blackline with the bugbuster scope on it, and I have no issues getting up close to the eye relief to get my target lined up. On the other hand my Diana 430L was using a bushnell AR AO scope, with the Diana bullseye mount, that scope has a much longer eye piece compared to the bug buster, nearly twice as long. I found with the wood stock I was having trouble getting comfortable looking into the scope, it may have been because It was mounted on medium rings instead of 1" rings. I will definitely try stuffing the stock of the HW97 Black line.

DualMagMike, That's the kind of info I am looking for. I once read the synthetic stock version felt light in the butt. Regarding vibration, seems to me the less transmitted to the hands, the less influence hand position, grip, etc., will have on accuracy. Not sure I want to buy a gun I have to micky-mouse around with filling the stock with material to dampen vibration and better distribute the weight. I see plenty of wood stocked HW97K's (and TX200's of course) at FT shoots, but not many black plastic stocked 97's.

I'm glad to report I stuffed the end of my HW97BL with pipe foam insulation, it's a very dense material, and reduced the felt vibration a great deal, in other words you could feel and hear the difference. You can trim it to a slight taper since the lower chamber is shallower in depth, and gets much smaller at the bottom. I used 2 inch. It wraps around the water pipes and has a split. The top chamber I made sure to place the split up at the top of the stock where the mounting boss for the rubber pad mounts to. I tried to stuff as much and as far as I could, cutting it off slightly longer, and continued pushing it in until it was full.
