Anybody else been ripped of selling

Mr brother sold an item on eBay or Facebook marketplace, can't remember which, and he was supposed to ship it on a Friday as soon as the buyer made his payment, for some reason he waited until Monday to ship it and over the weekend the buyer took his money back. If it had been shipped on Friday he would have been out his item and money. He contacted the buyer about it and the buyer played dumb and had some lame reason the money was took back. If I was to sell any item I would get my money in my hands before my item left...no different than buying anything on the net from any business. The buyer then wanted to buy it again but was told it was sold to somebody else and was butt hurt over not getting to buy it again.

Yep....both buying and selling is a crap shoot now a days. Not long ago I bought a TX200 and went thru 3 different scammers before finding a legitimate seller. "Always" be sure to use a good credit card that you can stop payment on if things go sour. At least the loss wont be out of your pocket. Paypal wanted me to wait 60 days for the seller to explain why the rifle was never shipped....well the credit card company was much quicker....instant cancel then hold the amount for 10 days, if the seller does not respond in that time...you owe nothing! Really pissed off paypal but they did not want to do anything but wait.....yea wait until the crook dissapeared.. Good luck out there in your buying and selling

You can bet we hear about all the bad transactions, but they are still a tiny percentage overall. Generally speaking most people are good. I haven't had a bad transaction yet (fingers crossed) but if I do it will still be less than 1%. Particularly on a board like this I think most established members would bend over backwards to make sure you were pleased with a transaction.

Speaking of walking away from a CC there was $13 grand worth of missing scopes from a tampered box that apparently UPS retaped over the paper seal tape with CLEAR tape and they claim I signed 4 the boxes (one of the 2 wasn't tampered with still sealed with paper security tape) boxes were left and I witnessed the brown truck leaving called UPS to state one wasn't originally sealed and appeared tampered retaped over and speaking over tge phone inspected the contents for 2 boxes against the invoice and itemized what was missing YUP $13 grand worth of scopes not accounted for. UPS said they had my signature (no way that was impossible) then contacted scope dealer filed a claim 2 months later they denied saying I signed for the packages then CC up to bat for dispute they also said they contacted vendor stating I signed for the packages (no way) they denied too.

Formerly asked to speak to the CC company manager in charge to declare I'm walking away from the balance after paying what's over the $13 grand of scopes I did not receive. It's not the first time UPS stole stuff from me in the past 35 years.
