Any updates on the FX Dream Tac Compact?

I need another short rifle in my life with multi-shot capability, adjustable power down to at least 10 to 12 FPE in .22cal and a biathlon style cocking lever. This gun would be specifically used as a rat gun with a dedicated ATN X-Sight 4K Pro. On the high power side of it, if I could also get at least 28 to 30 FPE out of it, that would work out great but I'm mainly looking at a low power ratter. Out of all the new FX airguns that came out from IWA 2019, this one has peaked my interest. 180cc air cylinder, 400mm barrel will do just fine for me. So does anyone have any insight on when they will be available and what do you guys think?

When I inquired with FX on 6/17 they responded:

Yes, I think all parts are in stock now. But what i can't see is when there is room in the production to produce them. I think there will be a smaller batch shipped to US in July.

i also recently contacted a couple of dealers and they responded the compact was not available to order yet.

Will be a popular model when they start shipping so probably hard to snag one.

It's interesting that the one that Matt Dubber shows on his video does not have the recessed shroud as presented in IWA 2019.

I hope the final product comes with an included, recessed shroud, because not only does it look awesome, it should help with suppressing the sound.

I agree. It would also be cool if FX collaborates with DonnyFL to come up with a shroud that's effective and keep the package short.

I was very interested in it but I ended up going a different route, actually 2. Shocked to see they don't have a shroud now though. I thought I heard price point in a video on them before were gonna be slightly more than the standard dreamlines which I don't understand. Maybe pricing will be cheaper now without a shroud but still adding an LDC will add a decent amount of length where the shroud would keep it shorter. Unless Matt Dubber removed his?

DairyBoy, what did you end up going with instead??

EVOL Tac .22 compact. 15" barrel 36" OAL. That was my first choice. Have been waiting around 21 weeks since ordering this far. I know it will be worth the wait when I do get it but it is a long one.

Next choice which is a closer fit to the DreamTac compact the Raptor Mini. I ordered it in .22 with the unchoked slug barrel. 16.5" barrel 37" OAL. Should only be 4-5 weeks more for that one.

Decided to support our small home grown companies here. Again do find the DreamTac compact as a great looking gun but very little info on it at all and didn't wanna wait anymore. Am looking forward to others getting them though whenever they do get here

This is not the compact. I recieved my dream line tach Monday 600mm .25 with the 500cc bottle. Sweet gun , also a .25 600mm slug liner. Shot it yesterday to get on target. 33gr Nelson slugs, it was late and cronie wouldn't pick up. But at 35yds 3/8" hole. Know I can get it better, probably needs more fpe. Will work on this today after work. Very pleased with gun!!!

i dont belive that barrel on foto is 400mm! no way! its shorter!

Well, that's what the dude said in the IWA 2019 Release. If it's shorter, even better. I only need about 10 to 12 ft.lbs. of energy for rats and the range I'll be shooting them at is around 5 yards to 25 yards max.

Sounds like you need a 400 hundred dollar prod for rat and in barn work.Mine fits the bill just fine for that type of pesting

I've had one for years. And it was great and a lot of fun to use. I'm sure the Dreamline Tact Compact, with the power turned down - the greater shot count and regulator, will be worth every dollar.

Thank you but I'm not really interested in a Prod.
