Any updates from Nielsen?

Anyone heard from Nielsen when they might be opening back up after the move?

I purchased several boxes of slugs just before they moved for testing in my new M3, and now that I found what particular slug it likes I'm down to only about 120 slugs left and feeling a little anxious about running out.

Figured I'd ask here and not waste their time, they're probably busy setting up the new shop.

Sounds good. I figured things might be taking longer than expected, the banner at the top of Nielsen's site still says they're expecting/hoping to reopen for sales the 2nd week of August... But that was probably an optimistic guess. I'm sure they have a lot of stuff to move and set back up.

I'll ration what I have until they reopen, and if I run out I'll fall back to my trusty old .25 R5M and JSB 33.4s.

Already checked with several dealers... None of the US dealers I checked have the slugs I need in stock.

Krale has them, but shipping is expensive ($31 for up to 3kg, $61 for up to 6kg, although that's better than nothing if I really really need them.)

I know the .218 27.5gr slugs work fantastic and I want to pick up more of them. I also want to try the .2175 diameter; I only tested the .217 and .218 so far. The .217 shot great at 45y but opened up significantly at 100y+; I'm hoping the .2175 will group as well as the .218 and pick up a little velocity. At the same settings the .217s were noticably faster than the .218s.

Hi guys. The delay is lead wire. We are waiting on wire so we can get to work. Our suppliers have same story - cant get a labor force to work and keep up with production.

We have lead coming in but trickling in. We are fulfilling back orders and we are going to halt wholesale orders that are not back ordered for a brief period so we can get ammo to end users.

We expext the wire issue to be brief and back to wholesale and retail. Our shop is fully ready for production. Only the machine shop is still being finished. We are 100% up and running on ammo side but limited lead wire to run.

We are filling back orders while we are down so we can come out swinging when our wire comes in.

Thanks for the update! I'll keep watching the website. Hopefully the lead wire supply improves.

I agree that besides the extended lead times for nearly everything right now, it's hard to find help these days... According to the HR department at work, over the last 6 months almost 70% of the people who come in for interviews and get an offer either never return the calls or if they do and accept the job they never show up to work. They're probably just using the interview to tell the unemployment office "I looked for a job but couldn't find one" to extend their benefits. Strange times...

WHOA!!!! You are up and running already??? Fan-freaking-tastic!!! Thanks for the update and I feel like I can shoot a couple from my stash now. LOL

I’ve really cut back on shooting. Ironically I had finally stumbled onto an NSA slug that my Impact really liked just before the NSA move. I finally did something smart and bought about 2000 rounds before Nick’s supply sold out. I’m going slow but when the gun is shooting this good you want to go fast.
Such is life. Good news from NSA for sure. Must be as frustrating for Nick and his suppliers as it is for us.
In the meantime, patiently waiting.

hope it went ok for them, hope the new place works out

just as a thought it would be neat for him to post IN 2 MONTHS some pictures of the place

and the set up with some commentary as to how it went and what fun it was

NOT RIGHT AWAY BUT IN 2 MONTHS

reason being I have some of his slugs up here in Canada but it is interesting to follow

small shooting businesses and their trials and tribulations

just a thought for later in the year

with the greatest of respect jeff

Shot the last of the .218 27.5's today at a friend's orchard thinning out his overpopulation of ground squirrels. First time using slugs on meat targets... very, very impressed. Slugs might take more effort than pellets to tune for accuracy, but the results are fantastic!

Going to order some .218's and .2175's from Krale, 4 boxes is right at the limit for the lightest / cheapest $31 shipping charge. 5 boxes bumps the weight to the next higher rate and takes the shipping up to $60. $31 for shipping 4 boxes of slugs isn't the end of the world... there's still hundreds more ground squirrels in that orchard that need blasting and I need more slugs to deal with them...

A couple more boxes of slugs should be enough for another couple weekends of ground squirrel blasting, and hopefully by the time I use up the slugs from Krale Nielsen will get some lead wire in and be up and running and taking orders.

It is the most stupid things some times.

In Denmark right now we have 30.000 open jobs, and just for young people we have +50.000 of those that dont have a job, and these are still allowed to sit on their ass it seem. Which is kinda funny in a nation that like to micromanage and force people to do things, not least a job.

Everybody here is screaming for qualified workers ( and unskilled ones too for that matter ) and wages in some jobs have jumped to new record heights. Thing's are actually better than they have ever been it seem,,,,,,, including the leeches not working.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the lead wire makers and Nielsen, the 2 X 2 boxed i have of .177 i am sure i could soon dispatch off when i finally get my Maverick.

We have the same problem here but 15X worse.

Just got a back in stock email from Nielsen... Appears they are back up and running. Yay!

My order from Krale arrives today, and once I figure out if the rifle prefers the .2175 or the .218 slugs it's time to stock up with a large bulk order.

OMG you are right! Many sizes are not showing sold out anymore. This is astonishingly fast! Way to go Nick! I have NSA slugs from Utah air in a couple of days, didn’t think Nick would be back and running in such quick fashion. Been nursing my slugs and with order from Utah air I actually have more slugs than when Nick started the move. 😂🤣😂
