Any SMG 22 Shooters Out There?

Just curious if there are any SMG 22 shooters out there and what their experience has been. I have not shot my SMG 22 since I added a wood stock and purchased the HPA tank and cable.

First I believe we live in the same location. I live in Grove City OH and think I am a member of the same airgun club. To answer your question.

The SMG I purchased had the plastic stock and the receiver has an attaching slot at the rear to connect to the stock.. This stock was attached to the gun by pushing it up into a slot on the receiver. Then a screw was inserted from the bottom of the stock to secure it. So I ordered a spare plastic stock as I needed the attaching part from the stock. It is a rod about an inch in diameter and five inches long.

I enlarged the picture of a Thompson to the actual size to use as a template for the wood. I cut out the forearm, countersunk for screws and used the original screws and mounting locations on the gun. After cutting out the stock I drilled a hole into it to insert the attaching rod from the spare stock. The wood stock slides into the same slot on the receiver and is retained in place by the original screw.

Hope this answers your questions. I am down in Florida Keys now but will be back in Ohio in early Nov. If you live close I can show you the gun.

I assume that FPS can be correlated to the pressure. Were you using CO2 or HPA? The problem with CO2 is that the pressure is dependent on the temperature as shown below. Also as you shoot the gun it further cools off and you get even a lower pressure and FPS. You can get a HPA adapter for the SMG22 that is regulated to 1100 psi and not effected by temperature.

CO2 Temperature Pressure

32 F 490 psi

50 F 638 psi

68 F 816 psi

77 F 919 psi

86 F 1031 psi

HPA 1100 psi
