Any Ohio squirrel hunters here?

Just realized that OH’s small game season starts 2 weeks before MI. Figured, wth, let’s try a change of scene! Been hunting the same area in MI for 38 years and want to expand my horizons a bit.

Have guns, will travel. If you host, I’ll even bring ya something nice to shoot (take your pick, Cricket .25 or custom Air Ranger)

No idea where the prime squirrel hunting in OH is, so any advice would also be much appreciated. Bought my non-res license and I’m good to go 👍

Just joined the forum, but I'm down in Dayton Ohio. I have a few good spots I could point you too. I love squirrel hunting so I try to get as much in as possible from Sept 1 when it opens until archery season starts, but then when that comes in I'm on deer pretty much 100% of my hunting time until I can put a couple in the freezer, or there is a day where I know the deer hunting wont be that good (like this past sunday). I always carry an arrow with a G5 small game point when I'm archery hunting too. There are a ton in my back yard and my neighborhood though as well. I have a bunch of squirrel recipes I'd like to try this year, so I'm trying to stack them up.

Like I said, I just joined because I recently decided to get into serious airguns and I picked up an entry level PCP - Hatsan Flash QE in 25. I have a 3-12x40 rimfire scope from bushnell coming for it. Once I set it up, the squirrels and rabbits in my yard are screwed.

Brian, looks like you have added to your collection. What are squirreling with these days?

My house burned not to long after selling my cricked to you so have not been on here very much.

Geez, Liam, very sorry to hear that! Hope it wasn’t too bad and everyone is ok(?)

The Cricket I bought from you is still my go-to hunter. Best small game rig I’ve ever had. Haven’t modified it in any way. Figured I’d leave it exactly the way Ernest set it up.

Taking it to FL in a couple weeks in case I have time for some iguana shooting while I’m down there airgun deer hunting.
