Any interest in a Pistol Field Target match in north-central Texas?

Apparently my absence from Texas field target has resulted in Pistol Field Target going extinct in Texas. No surprise; unfortunately I know quite a few Texas FT shooters that invested in pistol rigs before those investments were rendered obsolete. I accept partial responsibility for that by advising several individuals that asked for advice, "Unless you're willing to invest over a thousand bucks, the Crosman 1720T is inarguably the best choice" (for about $450); this when participation in pistol FT was steadily growing in Texas.

That being the case, I'm willing to host a pistol FT match at Ranchito Robinson if there is enough interest. My place is located about 20 miles west of Waco, 4 miles from the Lake Whitney dam.

Consider this post an invitation for feedback from individuals interested enough to actually attend such a match if I make it happen.

Thank You,

RR (if you read this, you know me)

Just a comment. We run both air rifle and air pistol matches on the same course shoulder to shoulder. Shooters can shoot either or both and if they opt to shot both with give them a dollar discount. It really isn't much more work to add pistol. We make the pistol match a 40 shot match (instead of 60 for rifle). The pistol shooters shoot the closest 2 targets in each lane. We use a separate score card that is a different color. We only have to set a few additional targets where the rifle targets are over 35 yards. It's usually only about 4 extra targets. We unfortunately do not get a lot of participation with pistol but we do make it available with just a little added effort

Apparently the Powers That Be in Texas FT gave up on pistols Rick. Hence my offer to hold a dedicated pistol match.

Nevertheless, I notice pistol FT is still growing nationally, with the pistol fields growing in number every year at the National Championships. Thank you for helping to keep it going.

I understand it's not for everyone. Best way I can explain it is by repeating what I've heard from many rifle FT shooters, "Pistol field target is just too hard!"
