Any advantages to hi power, fixed mag scopes for longer range airgunning?

Fixed power are not as temperature sensitive as variable power. This helps in rangeffinding. This aspect may not be important to you but it is to Field Target competitors.

The glass is usually clearer because it has significantly fewer lenses inside. Also cheaper for the same reason. (when you compare it to the same quality optics in a variable power).
