Another side shot setup question.

Got my side shot the other day and after tinkering with it and downloading filmic pro, the phone version is recording beautiful. But it is really bulky in my opinion.

So i ordered the GoPro 3/4 version since I have one of those cameras laying around from my drone days.

1. I can’t get the lens to focus properly.

2. The image looks fugly and small.

Does it get better/bigger if I change the lens?

what are the proper/ best settings on the GoPro 3?

Thanks for any input.

Please remember the size of the image in the frame is completely contingent on the resolution setting of the camera. If you are capturing video at 720P the image will be huge but if you are capturing video at 1080,2K or 4K it will be smaller respectively.
The stock lens is a fisheye lens and makes everything look smaller so you will want a flat non-fisheye lens to start.

The higher the MM number, the more zoomed the image will be. So if you purchased a 6MM lens and captured at 1080 the image will be pretty much full screen and still retain the circle of the scope view but with the same lens at 720P capture, you will only see the center portion of the scope.

I use 6mm on my Hero 4 Blacks and 8.25mm Lens on my Hero 6 and 7 Blacks because I will only be capturing video at 1080 or higher with the 6 and 7 as I want the 240 fps at 1080.

For best settings, please see my other post HERE:

You need to decide what will be your primary resolution of capture first.
If its 720p so you can capture at 240 frames per second you will want the 5.4mm

If 1080 then go with the 8.25 mm

2k or 4k go with the 12 mm

The rules that I have defined previously still apply.

I bought a set of Gopro Hero 5, 6, 7 case.

And purchased a GoPro 7 black camera.

Do I need to change the lens of the camera? Where is the lens purchased? What kind of purchase?
