Another ? on FX airgun threads.

I was informed that they have 2 threads, 27mm x 1.0 on the first batch of Wildcats and 20mm x 1.0 on the later batch. I now have a customer who says his Wildcat has 27mm x 1.5 threads on his, does any one else with one of the Wildcats have the coarser threads on their gun? Is there really a 3rd thread on the Wildcats? Thanks for the input, Neil.

Sorry. I knew that. I just used the wrong "wording". I was just hoping if someone who owns both guns could tell us if that were the case.

If it matters, here's the reason I was asking. If anyone is looking to add an additional LDC to a Royale, the end cap for the Revo will fit. I was merely thinking if the end caps were the same, they could order the end cap and attach their LDC to the Wildcat. Was not trying to hijack your thread.

Keith.

Keith that is the problem, the Wildcats do not all have the same threads, that is why I posted on here, to see if anyone else has the 27mm x 1.5 threads on their Wildcat. Frederik told me they have 27mm x 1.0 and 20mm x 1.0 but I now have a customer who tells me his pitch is 1.5 so that means there are at least 3 different threads being used on them. I have asked my customer to double check them, but he had said he checked them using a pitch gauge. Neil.

"Paulcat"Sorry to go off on a tangent Neil.As much as like the FX,it seems very confusing if not odd to use so many different threads.Yes you are right,1/2 inch by 20.I used a metric gauge.Stupid me thinking Europeans would use metric through the whole gun.

I think that the 1/2" UNF is because that is, or atleast was, the regular thead used tor moderators, muzzlebreaks and suppressors for airguns and fine caliber rifles up until just some years ago. More and more manufacturers seem to be using the finer metric threads lately. So think of it as an adjustment to the general market :)

It is not really an adjustment to the general market, I do not think the other makers are going to alter their threads from 1/2 inch x 20 any time soon, it is an accepted size for threads on air guns. FX most likely uses the large threads because of the large diameter shrouds on their air guns. They almost certainly would not use large threads like that on anything without a shroud, it would just not be feasible, Neil.
