Another new in the PCP ...

Hello friends,
I am the new one in the PCP ...

Currently I have the following setup:
Rifle: Hatsan 125 TH Vortex .22 with the following tuning:
- made front and rear "fossa" of the barrel;
- aggravation of the stock with scrub and dried fine sand;
- polishing of the cylinder;
- changing the cuff - was damaged by the poorly crafted rifle for less than 150 shots!;
Monoblock: SPORTSMATCH DM60 DAMPA 1PC Mount 1" 9-11mm HIGH
Optics: UTG 4X32 1" Hunter Scope, Mil-dot, Airgun Rings, Adj@35 Yds, SCP-U432FD

Tuning was necessary because of the extremely poor quality of the Hatsan rifle! The materials and workmanship of Hatsan are very bad for Europe and I guess it is different to 100% for the West! Tuning was done by a colleague at the Bulgarian Air Force Forum in November, and since then I have read many topics in the forums and I have been watching many PCP videos since winter time. Soon I came across your forum and here I also read a lot of themes.

For the moment I have chosen the following setup:
1. FX Streamline Walnut .25
2. FX No limit Scopemounts
3. FX Four stage turbo pump (?)
4. Athlon Argos BTR 6-24x50 APMR FFP IR MIL

A few words about my choice and so on...
First, my budget is quite limited. Everything will buy it at once. Budget has an impact on my entire choices!

Secondly, the rifle will be used for shooting on paper targets of 50-100 meters and plinking (tin cans, logs, soda bottles, or any other homemade or naturally occurring target.)

I will shoot straight and lie down on the ground because there is nowhere else to shoot at a table, and to carry with me as well as a chair will be uncomfortable ....

For hunting ... hunting in Bulgaria, as well as shooting in settlements and around them is totally forbidden! ... But I would try only rabbits and pheasants with good opportunity, pest control and other things I do not like.

@ For the rifle, I largely paused from what you read in your forum and the videos on YouTube. The other gun candidates who dropped into my stats were:
1. Comet Lynx V10 Black .25
2. Evanix Blizzard II.25
3. Benjamin Marauder Synthetic Gen 2 .25
4. Walther Maximathor Varmint .25
After careful screening and analysis, I chose the rifle I mentioned. The caliber is also not accidental.

@ Mounting for optics - here I wanted to be adjustable. I wondered between SPORTSMATCH ATP66 and FX No Limit. Here I also bet on the opinions of colleagues from BG as well as the one read here in the forum - FX No Limit.

@ Regarding optics ... here I found it most difficult because I have neither experience nor knowledge. In the Bulgarian forum and there is a big difference in used optics brands and this also made me very difficult ...

My candidates were the following:
1. DISCOVERY FFP VT-T 6-24x50 SFVF DLT MIL
2. Vector Optics FFP Counterpunch 6-25x56 Low Profile
3. Vector Optics FFP Taurus 4-24x50
4. Nikko Stirling FFP Diamond 6-24x50
5. Athlon ARGOS FFP BTR 6-24X50 APMR IR MIL

My terms were, necessarily, the first focal plane and the MIL! Here I would like to offer a great gratitude to Joe W Rhea! From his videos I learned a lot and helped me when choosing my optics! Of course I wanted to have a review of DISCOVERY optics but alas. From the one I read here I bet on Athlon (Athlon ARGOS FFP BTR 6-24X50 APMR IR MIL) even though the Bulgarian forum recommended me Vector (Vector Optics FFP Taurus 4-24x50). Athlon is much more expensive than Discovery, the other that strongly recommended me in BG but I have to bet on the better for the money I can give ...The bad thing in BG is that it is hard to buy any of the optics I mentioned ... except for China, which I do not like at all ...

@ With regard to a pump (because there is nowhere to load a bottle) I've stopped between FX4 and MK4. I wrote about the pumps here in the forum but I still have no reasoned help ...

If anyone has any advice to me about my setup, please share it.
I apologize for the long post and my English language!
Thanks in advance!

A couple of observations-
If you're on a budget you'll likely be filling with a hand pump.
The Cometa Lynx seems to have a record of problems at least the first guns to arrive in the US. Being a bottle gun it will a lot of work to fill with a pump. The Evanix is a good gun and comes set up for the first shot being the most powerful and the power/velocity dropping from the first shot. If you wany a longer shot string it will need tuning. I'd recommend the Marauder as a good first PCP if the cost is not too high in Bulgaria. It operates on a 190 bar fill and gets 16 good shots per fill set up from the factory. There is a lot of information on tuning the Marauder available. The Walther operates on around 220-230 bar, so it may be difficult to fill with a hand pump.
Shoot safe,
John

1. Excellent choice. I have the Streamline 22 and it is a wonderful gun and it is very accurate!

2. I also use the FX No Limits scope mounts. I was able to easily zero my rifle at 50 yards using just the adjustable mounts only, this was even after turning the elevation turret in one whole turn. Now I have a full 3 turns of elevation (Up) if I need it instead of just two. This aso makes the reticle more centered in the scope if you use a scope cam.

3. I chose the Hill Mk4 due to the ease of rebuilding if needed. It has not needed it yet.

4. I have this exact scope....it is super nice. The reticle is excellent and the Mil Turrets and APMR reticle are very nice!!

Thank you friends!

Yes, you are completely straightforward for a compressor and this will be best for me but unfortunately I live in a small apartment and there is no room for a compressor.

In the topic of pumps and compressors here in the forum I already wrote that I watched almost all videos on YouTube and I read in several places and for now I do not think of a compressor most Chinese even if I had a place ... Many people are happy with them but almost everyone has changed parts and even returned them to replace a damaged engine ... Of course I'm not saying that they do not happen but they're a lottery to hit a good one like most Chinese articles (like the Turkish in BG) I think ... But so or else I do not have room for a compressor at home and it remains a pump.

With regard to pumps - I have no claim to be FX4 mandatory. Hill Mk4 are certainly good when used extensively in the West. As a price, the FX4 is cheaper than Hill Mk4. The second one further adds to the filter group, which is sold separately from the pump.

Here we have an "FX" representative for Bulgaria, while Hill Mk4 has to order it outside of BG, which will make it even more expensive.

If there is no mention of specific facts to determine Hill Mk4 that is better than FX4 then I will bet on FX4 because of the price in BG.

The Marauder will not curse my soul that it was my first choice when I first looked at PCP information, but I think even if I chose Marauder's second generation, Streamline would be better for me. This is my view and opinion I do not engage anyone or convince anyone that I am right.

Yes, I like the Marauder, but that's not enough...I also like FX WildCat (even FX Impact though I do not like lots of bullpups) but they are expensive for me...

Evanix Blizzard II was the last dilemma between Streamline until the last but after consulting with colleagues from our forum on materials and workmanship I chose Streamline.

Regarding Optics - in the Bulgarian forum I highly recommended Vector Optics FFP Taurus 4-24 × 50 and some of the personal messages recommended to me DISCOVERY FFP VT-T 6-24 × 50 SFVF DLT MIL but I will bet what I read here and the videos of Joe W Rhea!

Everything good from me!

Hello again,
I'm going to put Humа reg on the rifle. I hope this even better regulates the shots and increase them with a small number.

I'm a little surprised because my friend puts Huma to his new Edgun, and he thinks the same result would have been achieved with his factory rifle regulator plus the tester that can be purchased from the Huma site !? What do you think about this?

Not sure where your located/buying but I have owned 2 FX pumps and 2 Hill pumps ( cant really count the yellow Hill hand pump tho, what crap that was) and find this pump:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-After-sale-PCP-Airgun-High-Pressure-Hand-Pump-4500psi-for-Benjamin-Hatsan-HPA-/122017031285
superior in every way period. ( I've NO idea on that seller but it's the pump I have) Tried to find a psoting or two on it here and there are owners posts I just couldn't find the quick.

A hand pump is almost 0 technology and the QC on my low budget hand pump is actually better than the others were.

Hello friends, Of course there are many cheap pumps that people who bought like them, like the one that is recommended in the BG forum - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/UZWELL-4500PSI-300bar-30mpa-High-Pressure-Pcp-Hand-Operated-Air-pump-Hand-Car-Mini-Air-Gun/32825241521.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.CtRsvT. The one that is mentioned in the above post - "Taousa" I met her and another time to be mentioned and probably nice, but all these are 3 - Stages while the ones for which I wrote / ask are 4 Stage - FX4. The Streamline reservoir is 250 cc and certainly needs a quality and powerful pump that will make my life a little easier ... And regarding my asking for the Huma regulator?
