Events FINAL Two Indoor 50’ BR matches in North Central Ohio 3/6/2022 and 3/20/22

Our local club, Meeker Sportsman Club, is holding indoor 50’ bench rest matches this winter on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 2:00 PM. Signup starts at 1:00. It’s primarily a .22 Rimfire match but we are welcoming (.177 and .22) airguns to compete as well. Two airgun shooters have been doing very well against the powder burners and I’d like to see more Airgun shooters show up. Cost is $10 for the 4 card match shooting NRA 50’ rifle A36 targets.

Here is a link to our calendar of events:

Our club is located in Meeker, Ohio which is an hour north of Columbus and a tad over an hour south of Toledo.

It’s a for fun event which gives us some much needed “lead therapy” and trigger time in these cold weather months. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions. My email is igolfat8 followed by @yaoo.com

Our indoor season is coming to a close with the final two matches this month. Come out and join us if you can.

Someone emailed me with some questions that I didn’t address in my initial post.

One of our club trustees passed two weeks ago so things at the club have been kind of crazy. He was the man who ran our indoor shoots as well as 3 gun and our outdoor ARA matches so those are some big shoes we have to get filled soon. So, if you have called our club’s phone or contact person that’s probably why no one has returned your call.

1) All of our shoots are open to the public and you do not need to be a club member to watch or participate. You will have to sign a waiver basically saying you won’t sue us if you trip and break a finger nail :) There is no need to pre-register. Just show up and shoot.

2) There are no power restrictions on classes but we have a limit of .22 caliber for either air or .22 Rimfire. Rimfire has factory and unlimited classes while airguns are lumped into one class (with .177 and .22 combined).

3) We have 6 brand new Caldwell folding benches that we shoot from indoors. They have a built it in seat / stool. They are a bit wobbly but it’s a fair platform that everyone shoots from. The range is in the clubhouse basement so there are some steps to climb if that is an issue?

You can shoot from any rest, bi-pod or bag combination which are all up to the shooter to provide. We do have some loaner sand bags to shoot from if someone shows up empty handed.

It’s a good group of guys and a couple gals on occasion. No attitudes have been displayed and everyone has a willingness to have fun, shoot safe and see the sport grow. Our indoor shoots don’t follow any sanctioned rules and there are no prizes or payouts.

If you have any additional questions please let me know and as I hope you will consider joining us for a fun afternoon of shooting
