Announcing the FX Impact MKII w/ FX Power Plenum

We know that many have had similar ideas of increasing the plenum size (either as an external addition or as an inline plenum). We are already aware of someone in Australia, South America, Europe and here in the US that have toyed with the idea, made samples, and even put into production a small cottage business of adding more space. We've played with both this design and the external design (made famous by Ernest Rowe) back into early 2018. We've watched others play with designs as well as we've internally worked on the changes to the internal parts that were needed to retain flexibility, fine adjustment, and retain the ability to manufacture one rifle that could still be flexible enough to be low power and high power (instead of creating a dedicated high power Impact). We released the MKII with a slightly larger plenum as a stop gap while we perfected this Power Plenum. We love that so many are working on enhancing the FX rifles, and we encourage it. By all means keep it up!

Could you post links to the eccentric versions you refer to that preceded my April-25-2019 design ? You didn't mention this in our previous communications.

Would like to see the numbers of max power for .30 cal in a video as well. 79 shots was impressive in .30.

I would hope North of 130fpe, others with currently available parts and a bigger plenum are there already.

They left the restriction at the brass transfer port and pellet probe. Open those to have 130+ fpe in .30 cal.

You're asking a company to share their R&D on a public Internet forum... because why exactly??

Why do we have to ship our Impact for installation ? For warranty ?

Mine impact is for long time no more under warranty and i can disassemble it and reassemble it blinded by heart.

I think that will be very complicated for us in Canada to get this kit soon. US market is always the first to get new parts or rifles from FX.

This is not fair for the other FX Impact owners.

If you open that would you be able to run lower power still? To get max shot count, or would it be stuck a high power gun?

This is a huge deal to be able to run .177 pellets to .35 slugs at all the different power levels required for accurate shooting. Kind of an insane gun if you ask me. Good for FX although they probly stepped on a couple of toes on their way that is to be expected in business. To bad I already ordered the polish unit a couple of months back. I am patiently waiting NOT. But then again there is probly a backlog to deal with as with any new part.

Low power still works fine.

Thank you! Appreciate your responses.

Ja Ja Ja vee haf to tank Chuck for dis idea! 😆

More than a year ago I began telling guys at XF that they should put a larger plenum on their Impact, because there are only two ways to tune an airgun for more power...you either use a small amount of air at high reg pressures, or you use a lot of air under low reg pressure. Brian at Airgun West had the right idea to use what is referred to as the "high volume - low pressure" method a couple years ago when he tuned a.25 caliber Edgun R5M to get 60 ft lbs energy. At that time I began telling people that FX should make a larger offset plenum, along the lines of the offset Edgun silencer that had the hole in the top with a whale belly below for more volume.

This is an idea that is so blatantly obvious that even a house painter saw it a mile away...so to me, any one person trying to take credit for it is like trying to say they were the first person to think of making the wheel! And who really cares anyway? Let's all just thank God and Frederick Axellson for having the foresight and vision to put the idea into production and make it available for everyone to take advantage of the larger plenums, that up till now you had to get one from a friend of a friend of a friend of Ernest Rowe or wait until your hair is gray for him to have time to install one for you.

WAY TO GO FXUSA!!! YOU HIT A HOME RUN WITH BASES LOADED AT THE TOP OF THE NINTH INNING TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!!!

All the best, CHUCK

Edosan, the whole world is envious of your Silver Surfer and none of us will probably ever be able to match you for power and accuracy but I for one am sure going to try! And now lots more guys will be able to tune their guns so they can try to take the Crown from you! 😂😁😆 But I really don't think anyone can touch you when it comes to competition, and I know no one can touch you for style and class! 😉

Your friend and mine, CHUCK
