And so it begins...

I finally did it. After a 1 year hiatus from air gunning I finally took the plunge. Albeit not a huge plunge.

I received my first pcp today. I went on the cheap side, admittedly so the wife didnt kill me, but I am excited none the less. And if course the wife looked at me like I was nuts when I pulled it out of the box, smiled, yanked the stock off and proceeded to drill a hole in my brand new rifle ( for the swivel stud of course).

I cant wait to go out and shoot. I bought 500 rws super h points as I heard these guns like them pretty well and I was expecting a break-in period ( coming from the world of springers), I have since found out that there isnt much of a break-in for pcps, but you can never have too many pellets. I also have a straight shooters sampler on the way.

I will say I was suprised at the effort required to pull the bolt back, not sure if thats normal, maybe some disco owners could chime in on that one?

Or, "And so the fun begins". Your going to love it, fun light weight rigs w/tons of easy user mods if you like.
I've had five discovery's and except for one with a BUNCH of chatter marks from machining inside the receiver where the pellet probe runs, it did polish right up but then seemed to want an aftermarket probe ( $12,00 I believe). Shouldn't be all that hard to cock, that know will unscrew on you sometimes maybe look for such.
& keep us updated.

Deja, I dont think its bad enough to stop me from shooting! I have an old sears and robuck .22lr bolt action single shot with about the same spring tension. I was just surprised at how much these airgus had, but I guess I should have known. Its going to take some oomph to open up the valve.

Spysir, I am definitely a tinkerer. Im going to try my best to leave it alone as long as possible, but who knows how long that will last haha.

Dairyboy, thanks for the info! I plan to go through a few tins of pellets this weekend so im sure Ill be used to it by the end!

Im hoping these H-Points group well. Maybe I can get some decent groups posted next week. Not expecting anything amazing, but man I hope I got a good one like I did with my Phantom. That thing was 10 times more accurate than it ever should have been.

Congrats on your Disco, that was my 1st pcp as well. WARNING: The darn things have a way of multiplying! I've just added #5. The Disco is a great one, nice and light & accurate. Every one is different but mine does best with JSBs, 15.89 or even 18.1. That's for a .22, didn't notice what caliber you have. Do yourself a favor and improve the trigger a lot for not a lot of $$$. https://www.bakerairguns.com/product/discovery-triggers/
Happy
shooting!

I also grabbed the 22, I had a .177 springer before and wanted something with a bit more FPE. I tend to really stretch the range when hunting/ pesting and as long as the accuracy is there i should be able to take some considerably longer shots.

I think I got lucky, my trigger doesnt feel too bad, I thought about adding the MROD trigger, but I will check out that link before I make any decisions.
