An over two foot tall squirrel?

He is a beast. I think a little longer than the fox squirrels here. I do kill a lot of 3 pounders here. Like his head gear. 

Its not really unusual at all. That's a normal fox squirrel for the deep south. Maybe just unusual because of where specifically it was. I didn't know they made it up into the Carolinas.

You'll note on the fact sheet they can reach up to 27 inches long.

Fox squires are big, like bullfrog I grew up in Florida and saw them all the time. Didn't shoot them when it was legal, always enjoyed them . I was filling a feeder once, lowered it down and lifted the lid and a fox squire out on my chest and off and stopped and chatted at me and ran off to a near by tree. Scared the heck out of me lol.

I truly humbly apologize if I offended anyone regarding my statements on this thread. 

After giving it some thought, I deserved the negative red balls.

I will try to be a better person and learn from this experience

and try to be more tactful when approaching similar matters.

Yes I agree with bullfrog. They are very common in Florida we see them all the time.

Lot of Fox squirrels in MI, have shot about 16 in the last month, 2 yesterday... one being about 24", making my FX look small, the size is about average for the males I have seen in my neck of the woods.
