Ammo!

A newbie here so not much experience. Just started shooting this year and found what I needed to get started at Pyramid Air and Field Supply. Hit and miss on the selection available at each.
Also have had success watching the air gun classifieds and purchasing from private sellers.
Very much in the experimental stage so getting a variety of different pellets to try has not been difficult as folks tend to pass on what hasn’t worked for them.

you can check everywhere, ebay, the airgun stores online, amazon, etc, really depends what you need ... personally i stick with 'standard' weight/shape pellets for .22 or .17 guns which is what i do my majority of shooting with, pretty much crosmans which tend to shoot well in just about every .22-17 made, and pick up tins here and there when theyre available .. i dont got time to fart around re-sighting for every fancy pellet that comes along .. for the more hunting specific guns i dont sit out and the yard and burn up expensive pellets all day long lol .. take the .25 for instance, it shoots jumbo exacts real well and thats all i want .. i bought about 5 tins 10 years ago and got 3 1/2 left because that gun only gets used for business and an occasional sight in .. thats how it goes for me anyway ..

I haven't had too much trouble but I can't always buy exactly what I want. When you see something that works in your gun, I've also found it is important not the waste a bunch of time thinking about it. My Prod likes H&N FTT best so when I could get them I stocked up. It likes Crosman domed almost as well so I bought a bunch of them too when I could. I shot Crosman hollow points when I couldn't get either. They are not as accurate and don't penetrate as well as the others but they kept me shooting.

My Avenger likes JSBs. King Heavies and FX (made by JSB) seem to shoot best (25.4 FX). I have not tried the AA 25.4 that are also made by JSB but one place I just looked had them. I'm debating just getting a mold. It would pay off eventually and eliminate all the "making do" with what you can find.

But if you are a little flexible (and your gun is) so far I have been able to find ammo. Not always what I wanted but something that would shoot at least OK.

Exactly. I'm one of those that some people disparage for "hoarding" or being "selfish" or whatever other terms they've used.. I've bought what my guns like in larger quantities for quite a while now. I currently have enough for a few years of shooting. Maybe a bit longer if I'm just shooting part time😁. I hope all can find what they need.
