Feedback Am I wrong for being a little pissed at this forum member ????

Ok so last night a forum member posted a couple items for sale . I sent him a message asking about said item. I gave him my personal phone number to contact me at if it was available . About an hour later I get a text from him asking me which tank I was after the carbon or the aluminum. I replied the carbon one . He sent back yes it's still available and I said I would take it . (Rember he contacted me ) . I guess I will just post the conversation and let you guys/gals decide .

The whole text conversation was about 3-4 min long . I guess I could be being petty but he did contact me and tell me I could have it . I feel like if he had someone else lined up to buy it then he should have never told me I could have it . What do you guys think ? I took his phone number off the top of the text messages because I wouldn't want anyone texting out my number to everyone on the board . Should I give him a negative feedback for this or just let it go ?

Could be worse, I bought what was supposed to be a fly racing carbon fiber helmet, only worn once. When I got it it had deep gouges, was obviously worn a bunch and honestly was trash. I offered to pay and ship it back because I definitely wouldn’t be allowed to race in it. He offered to refund the money and I’ve never got a “almost new” helmet again.

Redick how much faster could I have been I sent the message 10 min after he posted . He called me and said I could have it . The guy that ended up with it sent me a message and he said that he sent his message an hour after I did and he had never bought anything from the guy before . So he was lying about that part for sure

Its sellers choice. He said its available and whoever pays for it first gets it. Sorry bud. Idk why you would ask a friend for their PayPal. I wouldnt even give my PayPal to a family. Let alone a friend. They can use it anytime they want and I would get charge. Is it really that hard to open a paypal? It's free. Takes a few mins. So your fault for not just signing up for one. You only need a email address and a bank account. Never do wal mart to wal mart. That's how you get scam. PayPal is safer cause if you get scam PayPal will refund you back. PayPal is free.

Dankleinman LOL I am still learning how things work around here haha. In My last 4 deals / trades / purchases all have went smoothly and without a hitch I then leave feedback for them positive of course because they earned it as did I lol. And they never get around to answering me if everything was to there liking and everything was received in good condition. They sure do not leave a feedback lol. As long as they get there's it is like they do not care haha. I still try to do what is right regardless. Some of these fellows are like feedback Nazis haha. I do not have paypal myself I have missed alot of deals but it has not stopped me from making transactions and purchases with others. All whom I have delt with have received the usps money order and been properly paid. Very few but some reputable members I have even mailed cash like you do in a birthday card haha. Under a hundred dollars I do not worry about. If that was going to be my demise I should pick another hobby to enjoy.

IMHO === The person selling there item can do what ever they want it is there item. Apparently you and I have similar views and a mans word still means something to us because of the way we were raised I guess lol. Others are first come first served and that is there right just as much as you and I try to be true to our word.

There is nothing wrong with either way it is just a difference in personality I guess. I do wish it was listed up as such in the sale but we usually find out the hard way through experiences haha.

I also thought it was polite even to respond to silly offers and undesirable trade offers just as a courtesy . I have since learnt that is not the case haha. That is fine though to each there own. I have been ignored numerous times even when asking the moderators a question here. They just apparently do not care to respond. haha That is fine.😁

It is only right to let all be who they are and not force our thoughts and views on any of them but to wade through this big ole mixing pot of personality diversities and still try to be true to ourselves. You can tell I am uneducated , unversed , but try to be polite if given a choice haha I am a Goober lol.

Yes you and I are wrong to ask others to be someone they are not. I have some great people I have delt with and can't wait to deal with again without a hitch. I also have some I chose to just look over and move along and try to be nice to them anyway haha.😁

I cannot type well sorry

Scott in NC😁✌️

I don't think the seller did anything wrong. The way I see it, the first person to pay gets the item....otherwise you could have backed out of the deal when you said you were going to have a friend make the payment the next day (which, btw, would itself seem a little sketchy to me if I were the seller) if you ended up changing your mind. Should the seller be expected to turn down other legit offers while he is waiting on someone else to pay? Not in my opinion. If you had a free paypal account, you could have paid right then and there and the sale would have been completed.

However, the seller could have helped the situation by telling you that there was another buyer interested, and asking you to expedite the payment because of this.

Long opinion short: You caused the delay in payment, and that's probably the crux of the issue here and why you didn't get the item.

Spartan You are exactly correct lol. I am the goober guy who keeps my word and would have waited only to find out some people change their mind and lost a sale. It is just a case of to each there own. Different folks different strokes .

Some people worry about it and some don't worry at all it is just the way it is. 👍✌️

Dankleinman == I still have those crown mags you were interested in haha and I have an extra carbon fiber 480 tank for an fx crown. Also I do not have paypal but try my very hardest to keep my word and treat others fair lol. Just saying lol.😁

Spartan

Your missing my point . If the other guy paid him while I was talking to him for 3or 4 minutes via text he must have already given the other guy his email . I know the guy who got it did not have his email prior to this deal because he has contacted me and told me so . So therefore he had already told another member that could have it before he sent me a text telling me I could have it I probablty would not have gotten out of bed to do it if I had a PayPal account since I was asleep when he texted me . It was 10:30pm here in Ohio and I get up for work at 4 am I told him I would get it to him in the morning and he was good with that . Why does it matter who's PayPal the money comes from if it's mine or my best friends as long as he gets paid . I am a man of my word and I say it will be there it will . I guess like tarheel Scott said we're from a different time when a man's word was worth something .

It's not the end of the world I just asked if I was wrong to be a little pissed about the whole deal .

I also saw his add and was interested to see if it had the right threads to use on a Daystate Airwolf. Then I noticed Paypal friends and family only. No recourse? No thanks.

Also yes, shady that hes double dealing. If you're a seller trying to work a deal with someone follow it through. If it doesn't work out then you go to the next buyer.

It was probably a friend of his, and either way the guy's english is not all that great and his ability to deal with people and be honest with them has never developed. Hopefully he will see just how everybody deals with others and fall into line. I have been very fortunate with all transactions I have had on this and other forums, for the past 18 years. I know when someone replies to me wanting to buy something with Hi Friend, nobody talks like that, when you don't know the guy, and if you knew him you would use his name. This ended up being a scammer who had just joined days before and never had any posts. You might as well get a pay pal account, they cost nothing, and I love using them for what they stand against.

I’ve done several transactions with A few members here and always been a pleasure to deal with. We can’t be putting things on hold for other members. Done that before and wasted my time because the buyer changed his mind and I lost the other interested buyer. It’s a first come, first served basis deal. In today’s world if you don’t have a PayPal account you have to be willing to loose a deal or 2. From reading the conversation, the seller never agreed to hold the item for the buyer. And someone with a PayPal bought it. Should have been End of story. No need to bash another member over this.

Wow Racolon this was over a year ago ...lol I did learn my lesson and got a PayPal account the next day . And have made dozens and dozens of purchases since this post . I never BASHED the guy I was just asking if I was in the wrong for being pissed . But like I said this was last January I have bought and sold probably 10 high end airguns and many many smaller purchases . I was still a newer member to the board and didn't really know how things work in here . I have sence grown up a lot and don't sweat the little stuff any more . Also now I have multiple bottles like the one in the original post just sitting around now that I don't even use and I should probably get rid of .

Thanks

Dan
