Am i the only one lying to his wife about how much this stuff costs?!

I don't lie to my wife about the costs and would never want to. She is in control of the monthly budget and we have all kinds of different areas our money is spread out. All bills are paid money is saved and we both get a chunk of change that we can spend on whatever we want. If I have the money for an Airgun I buy it if I don't I either wait to save up or sell others to make the funds up. Down to only 3 PCPs and one springer selling my Mutant for a high end .30 cal. If she asks I'll tell her but otherwise she don't care as long as in.in budget. And being a Dutchman I have no problems staying in budget lol

Great thread! My wife has not asked and frankly does not care (whew!) as long as all the bills are paid, emergency fund/savings full, investments made, and we continue charitable giving. After that it's wide open--within reason. =)

Big boy hobbies are spendy...they just are. A few hours overtime each week helps to buffer the big purchases.

Guess I am doing something right. This time, after 3 marriages, I finally married the right one! (21 years ago)

She had only one compunction, we need to pay the bills first! (Coicendtly my compunction too) She does not fret about a $3400.00 Styer or $1800.00 FX .... She does look at me funny sometimes with that "another one" look. But no complaints.

I don't lie to her about the cost. She would know anyway as she handles the joint bank account. I found that keeping secrets onlys bites you in the A$$ eventually. So why bother.

The key is ( and applies to marriage and love) to find the perfect mate. The true secret to a successfully life with a woman by your side is not 10 ℅ sex, 90 ℅ love... That's truly bull doodie! It's 5℅ love, sex, and the other goopy stuff and 95℅ being able to tolorant each other's stupid bull snit!!!! Besides at 64, I really don't give a crap what anyone thinks about what I do... Including my wife...! (Just don't tell her I said that)

Still haven't shot that darn bell target you brought over yet. Hopefully will ring it today or tomorrow.

Fast airguns are way cheaper than fast boats, fast bikes, and fast cars. I'm out of two of those three hobbies now. The third is sitting in my garage as I didn't get even get 1 year out of a $2,500 clutch/tranny rebuild before I was looking at a $5,000 engine rebuild or a $25,000 new motor. I'll take a new $2,000 airgun that all I have to worry about is seals and springs any day.
