Altaros external regulator "unboxing"

Got my latest Altaros external regulator and thought someome might be keen.

Comes with the bleed screw (POM) and pressure gauge packeted seperately for safety reasons. And an aditional bag containing a complete set of O-rings.

The Pressure gauge is fittet with an O-ring at the bottom and only needs to be hand tight to hold 300bar~4500psi.

Fill whip is @76cm~30" microbore with high quality Foster female coupling.

The pressure regulator is Foster in and Foster out as supplied but the "in" fitting unscrews and the regulator mates with a SCUBA tank of all pressures.

As supplied the regulator is set at @140bar~2000psi (both of mine was at least!). @ ½ a turn in or out will give you @ 40bar~580psi of regulation. You do need to bleed the system and unscrew the regulator to make adjustments. But once it's set it's there forever.

The factory "only" states safe regulation between 100bar~1430psi and 210bar~3050psi but one of mine has chugged along for several hundreds of shots with my Texan tethered at a steady 250bar~3625psi with no issues. (quality?)

Oh and the ring with bleed screw and pressure gauge which shows regulated pressure (ie out) can be svivled when no pressure is present (3000 psi will lock up things tight)

I paid €130 but you lucky sods only have to pay $130 ;-)

I got one for feeding my Altaros booster so i can go high pressure in a jiffy. 120bar~1750psi directly into the HP inlet of my booster and have my 9liter~550cui topped up in no time flat. 45min instead of 6+ hours with ambient air feed only (using my slow shop compressor).

Later on i can boost my low pressure (200bar~3000psi) bottle while sipping beer and alvays be on the ready.

The other one i keep at 250bar~3625psi and use that to feed my Texan while on the range. It's also a bonus just filling as you just turn the wheel with no worries as it charges to set pressure each and every time ;-) Have a spasm while turning on and the regulator will only supply set pressure no matter what.

1) Where is that DIN to Foster adaptor? I didn't see it on Altaros' website

2) There is nowhere near enough threads for 4500 psi unless that's a really bad angle. I only see 2-3 threads at most.

3) Where is it sold for US $130? Ebay has 1 for $155, Altaros sells them on their site in Euro only, and they list no US distributors. Their Canada distributor doesn't even list any of their products.

1) The male Foster piece that screws into the end of the DIN or G 5/8 end of the device. ( Mine doesn't have this feature but all of my valves are DIN 300 so it is of no use to me )

2) I noticed that as well. I'm sure that it is safe. Altaros know what they are doing.

3) It can be ordered directly from their web site.

If you have any concerns. Email them, they usually respond promptly.
