Altaros Condor Regulator

I have an Altaros Regulator for my Air Force Condor and the Gauge threads snapped off (I don't have a clue what happened. The gun was in a case and had not been used for months when it decided to vent while I was sleeping although I did not stay asleep for long after the event began lol). Does anyone know where to obtain another? The threaded portion is VERY Small .... possibly 6mm?? Altaros is completely unresponsive to my request for information or spare parts!

umm, That's not good. When it vented did it try to launch itself through the case? I have one sitting on the floor beside me and I have not picked up the rifle in six weeks. I'd hate to think I have a bomb sitting in my den?

@oldspook it was just cracked when it vented. It broke into 2 pieces when I was inspecting where the leak had occurred. The port for the gauge and the air passage for it to the bottle is too small for any catastrophic event to occur.

@Dave On my Condor there was NO power loss. Regulation works well on Condors and the Altaros Regulator has a fair sized plenum in the regulated section.

Anthony from Talon Tunes contacted me last night and is bringing in some for spares.

Still no contact direct from Altaros and it was nearly 2 weeks ago I contacted them. Not a spam folder issue because I don't run a spam blocker or filter on the email address I used for contacting Altaros.

What can you tell me about the regulator.

From what I have read it looks as though you lose power capability over non regulated. While this might not be a problem in longer barreled airguns, it may prevent some projectiles from being tuned to a high enough velocity for their best accuracy.

Not directly related to the Altaros regulator but I have a pcptunes regulated .177 Condor and it will easily push any pellet faster than is needed. It probably could be the case that in some guns a regulator could restrict power below what a shooter desires based on power plant and barrel. That doesn't seem to be the case with the Condor.

I have the TalonP that will be getting a 16.75" chokeless barrel on it for shooting slugs. As long as I can push 33.5- 38.5 gr slug with accuracy and decent power, then I will pick one up in the future to try out.

Dave I am shooting a TalonP with the factory barrel with slugs from Nielsen, Varmint Knockers and my own Cast 25 ACP, Bobs Boat Tails 52 grain HP and SP's with great accuracy at 100 yards (Minute of Turtle head at 50 yards off hand). My suggestion for an Altaros Regulator and a TalonP would be to use it with an ACE Care CF bottle for much higher pressure fills and subsequent shot count. A factory TalonP doesn't have the same valve bottle threads (TP is 5/8 X 18 UNF) as the rest of the AirForce lineup which are 18 X 1.5mm so you will have to use a Condor Valve with an Altaros Regulator.
