Alpha 6 owners check in!

Just received mine today. Initial response is OK. Elevation turret is mushy as all get out. Windage somewhat less so. I do prefer this reticle over the standard mil-dot that resides on the Armada currently. Won't get to do a legit side x side til this weekend but overall we may have a winner.

With the Elevation being what it is I am questioning if I'll be able to try different weighted pellets on a regular basis. Even with the set it and forget it method.

Time will tell..

Disregard my post above, just learned the 27x scope does not have 16x markings on it, so it would not be useful for hunter field target.

Just buy the 2.5-15x50 version. It's a $359.19 scope that's not bound by MAP pricing like other popular brands so you get a good deal.

Hey Friends, I just wanted to share my thoughts and experience with Alpha 6 optics. I had purchased the 4.5 x 27 x 50 mm scope but upon arrival I was concerned that the reticle was so fine that I would be unable to use it effectively and in fact intended to return it. I ordered a Vortex as a replacement. After receiving some information and comments from Odoyle I decided that I would give the Alpha a try. Well I installed on a brand new LW barreled factory regulated Marauder and put it in service. I quickly realized that (as seems to be the norm for Odoyle) his information was spot on correct. The scope is clear and bright throughout the magnification range, the AO markings are spot on with my measurements on my backyard range which goes out to 300 yards. After a few shots to dial in zero at 25 yards I was consistently shooting Aspirin tablet sized 5 shot groups at 25 yards and just over 1" 10 shot groups at 50 yards. The illumination is bright when needed and I found that the fine reticle in fact seemed to allow for more precise shot placement on target. I think I could shoot ants at 25 yards with the clarity of this scope. Needless to say, the Vortex will be returned. Thanks Odoyle for sound advice! I would like to install a wheel on the AO knob for ease of adjustment and would appreciate any information on finding one. I am new to the PCP world and am loving the quiet, vibration and recoil free shooting of this platform. More rifles to come! Thanks Odoyle for the sound advice!

I had the same first impression of the Alpha 6 reticle. Once I mounted and used it a bit, it became clear that the reticle was not going to be a problem. It may not be a perfect scope, but it is a solid performer, and at $200 - a real bargain
