It just means that like all second plane reticles, the reticle graduations are only accurate at one magnification (in this case 10x). The point of aim doesn’t change with different magnifications

That's just a reference point that the reticle mil spacing are at a specific 10x power and when you go 20x the spacing is halved. Most people who use the markings for hold over points just set it at a certain magnification that they feel comfortable with and make note of holdover points at typical distances.

I should tell my friends to join here to get really good scope deals. They missed out on a great Barra scope deal. Does anyone have the Barra here that compares? Sorry if my question might sound disrespectful. This scope here looks really nice and they may like it.

I too followed Odoyles lead and got an Alpha 6 from BUDK a couple weeks ago. So far I am liking it a lot.

So, just a few days ago I downloaded Strelok Pro and got it set up. There is no Alpha 6 4.5X27X50 reticle in the database however...so I emailed Igor Borisov and he replied that he needs the reticle subtensions And he will add it. I can’t find it for this scope anywhere. I even emailed Aim Sports but have got no reply. Anyone have an idea if this reticle subtension diagram is available somewhere for the Alpha 6?

Since its a SFP the values are at 10x. Clicks are 1/10 mil. No idea on any ballistic trajectory computer program personally since I don't click with the scope and do the TED (HOLDOVER).

Odoyle, do you have a link for that reticle that I can share with the owner/programmer at StrelokPro? Above has some good measurements but the picture of the reticle is cropped at the top, bottom and sides. Can’t see the full reticle detail.

Well, I am not going back to re-read this older thread so if anything I say is redundant, at this point, I apologise. I got my Alpha 6 finally ($225 delivered) and figured to share some observations from my, admittedly, limited perspective when compared to some others on this site that own a dragon's horde of optics. The brightness and optics did not wow me like I thought they would. For comparison, the first Nightforce I ever looked through, many years ago, did. I don't know how they are doing lately, but there it is. It is not bad, it's actually pretty good when you figure in what you're paying. The image does not "pop" though and I really wasn't expecting it to. I had a past binocular addiction and I know that you get what you pay for. If not optical brilliance at least there is great value. I was looking through a Tac Vector Marksman fixed 10x (a real steal at $107), and a Primary Arms 4-14x FFP mil-dot at the same time, for comparison. These scopes are not moving off their guns for this one, but it's not because they are superior, they are just better suited to their tasks. The superior reticle to me is the Tac Vector's because the area around the dot isn't as busy. Just a personal preference thing. The mil dot on the PA scope is rather course comparatively against these two others but it helps me find the reticle in bad conditions and in off-handed shooting, so I do like the thicker reticle for that. I very rarely use illuminated reticles, but it's nice to have that option. Looking at a house on a hill 5 miles away, the TacV and PA did not do too badly against the A6 when put to the same power. I would give the edge in brightness to the A6 but the contrast on the PA might be better. The thicker reticle of the mil dot really gets in the way at that distance and makes it harder to range for all you "mil dot master" users. At the higher powers available to the A6, it really took over at distance. Distance and using hold over, on a bipod or benched, is where this scope will shine. It is heavy and not too svelte either, and I am talking for a 30mm tubed scope. My only actual complaint with the A6 is the side focus, and don't try to tell me that's good for a wheel either. The way it works isn't good, period. Hopefully it will loosen up over time. The turrets are fine, but I am not a clicker either so others can chime in on that. I bought this scope to have on hand for testing and watching pellets through the scope and it is perfect for that. It seems to be a real bargain at this point. If I ever get into over 120 yard shooting, this scope will do nicely. Get one before they jack the price up.

Perhaps paying the $400 plus shipping would be best since most people really believe that you get what you pay for in life right? Many choose to be happier paying twice the price to quadruple and even more for what they actually get in return and are indeed very happy and content to do so. I'm not as rich as them so I buy what I can for as cheap as I possibly can.
