Alpha 6 owners check in!

Their side focus wheels are the same diameter but they are definitely different scopes that look similar to anyone who doesn't own both to compare them side by side. This Discovery HD is a bigger scope which is pretty decent with a semi finicky eyebox and isn't as bright and clear as the smaller Alpha6 and their difference is noticeable even for someone with bad eyesight (well maybe not).

Here are the Discovery HD on left 4-20x50 FFP and Alpha6 4.5-27x50 SFP on right.

I have the Discovery 5-25x50 HD SFP too and that too isn't as clear with an eyebox that's not as friendly and their housings are really close practically the same eyeballing. The SFP Discovery HD has a reticle that looks pretty much the same as the Alpha6.

Thanks! I need a side wheel. Who has them or knows where to get one.

In Fact Glem, I see you are smarter than the average Human being and think you should contribute even more and spread your knowledge so everyone else can benefit. Especially all of the ignored posts all by their lonesome nobody wants to respond to that's being left alone. That really bothers me. I would go just reply to all those single lonely threads just to say hello just so all of them wouldn't feel left out Of the forum but that would raise my post count too much now wouldn't it?

What do you think of these scopes Odoyle? Do you own any of them?

Wow so many posts in a Week!

Glem, are you asking Yo (Odoyle) if he owns the Alpha6? Of course he does, he’s been pushing them on the forum now for months. Not a bad little scope for the money. Probably a better deal than the Discovery scopes...

I OWN them ALL. Yup just being helpful that's all. Unless there's a problem with helping people?

BTW- DIG your avatar all of the Death Wish movies are great!

Hope that doesn't happen in real life in light of what's all going on around all of us now days!

Yeah ive heard good things about them, i have the discovery 4-16 ED and really love it. Maybe we can order direct but no retailers carry them here alas. Haha thanks yeah a big Death Wish fan. Oh you're not one of those violent movies make you violent are you? Hope not.

I personally no longer click using scopes that were manufactured in China so I honestly have no idea but they do carry lifetime warranty if it fails but I wouldn't click even if it's the most expensive scope of Chinese origin. It's not saying they wouldn't be fine to click it's just a personal preference after some scope dial Of death failures in the past from mid to high end Chinese made scopes that's all. Your results may vvary..My choice is based on what happened to me and of course sooner or later everything fails with over repeated use right? Just a matter of how long and when. I just don't want to find out and you are quite welcome to click anything to your hearts content. Just DONT BLAME ME IF ANYTHING CHINESE FAILS. LoL

All I can say is I have seen a lot of airgunners with yardage marking turret stickers taped to their Alpha6 scopes. They either have their stickers for decoration or are clicking IDK. Really.

You should post a new thread addressing the clicking reliability of the Alpha6 scope in particular because I honestly haven't with not a single one of mine.

Ok I admit I am electing not to do dial in shots via turret clicking regarding the Alpha6 because it's made in China. Same goes for all other scopes that are manufactured in China regardless of brand and price as a personal preference that's all. I just use holdover. Everyone is free to click anything to their hearts content as long as their scopes have a good lifetime warranty so it wouldn't really matter if the turret fails right? Everyone doesn't realize the weak internal leaf spring construction tethering underneath the erector assembly to understand why I choose too not click.

Totally disassemble a scope and see for yourself.

I was thinking of clicking my scope to adjust yardage. But after reading what your stating. I'm having 2nd thoughts.

I do like clicking too.. makes it easy

Everything is clickable. Just a matter of time when it will stop. Who knows?

Us airgunners who actually click do so at a much higher rate than the centerfire shooters do who use Tier 1 high dollar scopes.

I was shocked when that guy doesn't even trust an entry level $1350.00 Japan made Nightforce.

Nothing wrong with clicking. I just don't like the hassle of having to unmount any scope to have to send it in for warranty that's all. The biggest issue for me is who knows when ANYTHING ANY BRAND will stop working?

I am a UTG guy, usually Bugbuster series. i also have Leupolds. I only holdover, but out of mere laziness. I obviously don’t have a dog in this thread, but I have had turrets fail 2x on other brands (Bushnell Banner and a Simmons - so cheapies). I didn’t use them much, and I forgot how they broke. I could just hear that wanna be click on one, and the other popped off and the spring was lost.
