Almost got sprayed!!!

What a day it has been. While out hunting woodchucks, I almost stepped on this skunk while walking in a wide open pasture. I point-blanked him with the WC and it looks like I got him in the spine....maybe that's why his tail didn't go up and no spray?

I have shot many skunks and just from my experience all that I shot in the head sprayed 100% of the time. About 50% of the time they never sprayed when chest shot. These two were having a spray off competition in my back yard. One giant cloud of sprayed until my Renegade .22 came on the scene. Both head shots but by the time I got the gun they had so much spray in the air I figured it didn't matter and took the head shots anyway. Normally I chest shoot them. Bob you are a pesting crazy man. Nothing is safe. LOL Nice pics.

that was a lot of spray to kill off that much grass! The whole county must have stunk! :)

Only 3 of the 8 were during the day. I would just as soon not encounter these things, but the farmer appreciates me killing them.

I took some pics yesterday of three coyotes in a pasture at the sheep farm in broad daylight. I texted the farmer some pics and he asked me to shoot them, but I didn't bring my AR-15 with me. So next time, maybe Friday, I will bring the AR and shoot at least one of them.
