Alloy v Lead

I haven't tried any H&N Greens. Don't know if they're anywhere near the same composition as GTO's.

Don't know where any fit in against almost pure lead JSB's & harder Crosman's.

A JSB is extremely soft and will usually mushroom upon impact and dump all energy. A Crosman is harder & penetrates deeper.

Send a Alloy pellet, the hardest, like a steel BB that's drag stabilized & (even if they weighed the same & sent at the same speed) they're going to do a pass through.

Because alloys are lighter and harder than lead, They go faster and penetrate much deeper.

Because they're lighter, they'll all shed their energy faster.

Our H&N Field Target Trophy Green (and Baracuda Green and Match Green) are made of 100% tin. As JamesD wrote, the material is significantly harder and approx. 45% lighter than lead, even if the lead is alloyed with antimony.
BTW: The pellets are not harmful to the barrel, because steel is again much harder than tin.

BIG SHOUT OUT, AND THANKS TO H&N Sport for monitoring an airgun forum and answering a customers questions and offering information. Good work, and great pellets by the way!

Thankyou H&N Sport and JamesD for your responses. I’ve been using both the Barracuda and FTT Greens in both my 22 cal Weihrauch’s, HW50S and Hw77. Both very very accurate. I tried the 22 cal FTT’s Greens in my Lgv and they were very accurate as well but for some reason i had to shoot some lead pellets from time to time to maintain that accuracy.
