All in the details!

If anyone here is familiar with brocock bantam magnum valves you will know what im talking about. They basically use a 45 degree valve, with a brass insert on the hammer side and a much larger hole to allow self aligning with an oring. Anyhow I made a new bronze insert with a .001 clearence guide that floats untill you torque it down. I also turned the valve from .268 to .250. This minor work allowed me to go a full turn off the hammer and gave me a 20 shot string es of 3 fps. For some reason its alot quieter now?

No, but I should of takin some! Mods so far other than the above are a precision fit ssg with a peak pusher, 17-4 17 gram hammer with peak striker, stroke shortened to .400”, huma bottle reg, 9ci plenum, reground sear ( id rather not give out the info), .220 ports, donny fl moderator. Pushing 34gr mk2 at 930fps for 70 shots at 150 bar. So far I LOVE this gun.

Damn, sounds like you could of bought a different gun and not had to go through all that ? I take it some people like “ tinkering” with stuff but I am sure the warranty is voided once one starts “ modifying “ them. I do wish I had the knowledge as to know how these guns work, better then I do. But dang some of you guys go through a lot, for what seems like little gain.

I'm with you ghoststalker...

I wish I was a bit more of a tinkerer but knowing me, I would screw things up worse by being stubborn and pretending that I knew what I was doing. Airguns are much more complicated than something like a 22 LR, for me anyhow. Still, I love the hobby and have gotten a bit more inquisitive in at least trying to understand how things work. I'm fortunate as I have an AG shooting buddy that can do anything and mentors me, which is great! But, "a man has to know his limitations." And, I have many when it comes to air guns. 😃

I truly admire all the tinkerers on the AG forums!

Little gain? Factory out of the box I got 52ftlbs and 40 shots on the reg. Now im nudging 70ftlbs for 70-80 shots. I run a big machine shop, so I love playing around lol. But yes, the second that reamer touched that port the waranty was voided but honestly, theres nothing on this gun I cant make so im not too worried. I shot this today at 100 yards, only 4 shots though but I was grinning :)

Heres 150 yards. Pretty much zero wind or im sure or it would of looked like a shotgun!

Wow quite impressive! I am leaning toward getting either the commander or the bantam in HP, and it is good to see what you have been able to do. I want to push heavy ead as far as possible and knock bunnies over. Is yours a .25 or .22? I will ikely go .22 and shoot slugs as well.

If I do get one of these, would there be any chance of getting some hints or instruction as to improve my gun?

I have been kicking around either an FX or a Brocock, but the more I see the more I feel that the Brocock will be more powerful out of the box and more dependable.

Basic stuff really like any other gun! Porting, making the valve as small as possible and still seal, big plenum, heavy spring with light hammer and short stroke is my fav for effiency. Honestly, if I do another one, its going to be an Fx. Unless you have access to machines then the skys the limit! The impacts are nice because the work has been done for you. BUT, the brocock is a hunters rugged gun and will last a lifetime. Its a very basic simple gun with minimal moving parts.
