Akela stock finish

I recently purchased an Akela. Believe it has a walnut stock on it. The finish is not all that impressive I have a T200 that I finished in London Royal Oil That turned out nice. I don't want to sand the finish off of this and start off fresh. I was wondering if by applying say another type of finish on this if it would spice it up a bit without hurting anything? It;s not that bad, I'll just leave it alone before messing it up. Any wood workers out there have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Hey, if I get this pic stuff on here figured out I'll do a before and after lol

maybe just 5-10 wipe downs of linseed oil to harden and bring out some beauty

I was thinking about that, was gonna go out in the barn and try to find that London Oil I didn't know if anyone had tried putting that over other stains or oils? Probably just stick with the linseed I've used it before old stand by

yeah it polymerizes so if you see or feel pores they should be filled by that. If it is Turkish they are more likely to have used a linseed anyway, unless Crosman is making the stocks with synthetic. Just make sure there is no run off or excess.

00000 STEEL WOOL then get some tru oil put 4/6 coats on it by cloth and light steel wool in between first 4 coats then rest by hand and magic will appear i do stocks and they turn out really nice

I have a new Cayden and rubbed mine down with boiled linseed oil ( BLO ). Sealed the pores and gave it a nice satin finish. I have seen videos like Douger suggested and they do look nice when done.

I was impressed with mine. The walnut has alot of nice grain to it. Nice dull satin finish on it. If I was to do anything, I'd sand and do some coats of tru oil, rubbing it in with a piece of burlap sack. Then 000 between coats. You can get a nice deep glass looking finish, or a dull non glare depending on what your after. Nice shooting rifle for the price.

Finish on my Cayden appears to me to be some kind of sealing stain, just like it was on my Akela, I plan on scrubbing it with fine steel wool and denatured alcohol and then either stain it and give it a couple coats of rubbed poly or just the poly depending on what it looks like after the scrub
