Dumb question, why are replacement rifle stocks SO expensive, and does anyone know who has lower prices?

Something handmade like Steve Corcoran of Woods and Water outdoors’ stocks are the work of a skilled artisan with limited time. They will charge what they feel their time is worth.
If they offer an inlet for the gun you have, Boyd’s or Richard’s Microfit offer laminate stocks for a very few models of airguns.

Try making some custom wood parts and you’ll see how fiddly it can be if you do it right. There is a reason it costs. It’s not easy by any means. Getting good fit and finish while still maintaining great ergonomics is pretty challenging.
Useful links. They are now in my bookmarks!

Thanks Everyone!February 23, 2018 at 8:13 am LinkI used to think the same way until I made several myself. I will spend over 40 hours working on a stock. Even if you get one from Boyds unfinished, you may have several days sanding and finishing it. They are labor intensive!!!!!! JohnL57 has given you the only option I know. Although the Boyd stock looks good, many have been unhappy that the comb is too low.
