Airgun (PCP) shooting range

As an aside but relevent to the Op's question. How many gun ranges require proof of firearm license(in states requiring them), proof of a range safety class etc, or proof of being able to legaly hold, let alone own a firearm(felony convictions and such).

In Mass there are no public ranges, nor discharge or firearms on public land for target shooting(mostly). There are gun clubs, a closed to public state range, and a couple open to public pay ranges(license required).

I understand this is different in each state. I also understand shooting an airgun can be difficult with firearms being shot as well. Here's the rub. It's not any different shooting a firearm at a gun range with other guns being fired. You either get used to the report and carry on or don't.

The idea of shooting a pellet gun is that it can be done in your back yard. If you Airgun is too powerfull for your backyard it may be the wrong toy.

One more thing. To open an Airgun Only range for the public you will be required to follow the same process as a firearm range. It's EPA regs first, then anything else your state demands.

Good luck finding a place to shoot. Hopefully you can make friends with a farmer.

I don't have a firearms permit but I have a public range license in PA. There is no requirement for that, it's like a fishing license. Constitutional carry should be here soon after Mastriano becomes governor anyway.

LCSGunner if you were a couple hours further west I'd say come on by and shoot in my yard. Good for up to about 100 yards.

Your closest Public Game Lands with a shooting range might be Warden Rd, New Tripoli, PA 18066 ... not sure if thats worth the drive. Most rod and gun clubs are going to be 100% fine with you shooting air guns. There's one out closer to Reading my parents in law shoot at -- has a dedicated air gun range. They don't all have that but you can shoot on the 22LR / rimfire range in most cases.

If you were a little closer you could set up and shoot from my deck. I do everyday and set up target back in the forest. I’m outside of Berwick and all my neighbors shoot.
Thats very kind of you. I'm 1 1/2 hrs away from Berwick. Not bad
On a day that you don't have much going on just Let me know. I'll take the trip...

In our city it is illegal to discharge an air gun as well as a firearms. City ordinance.
