AGD - pellet deal confusion

I ordered 12 tins of pellets this weekend on the awesome deal they offered. I expected to get one free for every three that are ordered right?

NOPE! They charge for 9 give 3 free for a total of 12. THAT WAS NOT what I ordered. NO where on my order do I ask for anything but 12. The girl says well that's how our computer does it. it recalculates the total quantity to include the free tins. She says I know its confusing. So I asked......Why is this confusing to anyone? I get 1 free tin for every 3 ordered. That's what you advertise I ordered 12 you owe me 4 tins free. End of discussion.

This is why I just HATE dealing with these big airgun dealers. Damn near every time I get done with them I feel like I need an f-ing shower! It will never stop either as long as we support them. I am done with these guys. I don't care if it costs me more. I will not give my hard earned money to them. I know i am going to see a dozen instances of how wonderful they were to some of you and good on you!. Trust me guys it's not if, it's when .....they will get ya.

I just tested it out. Not sure where the confusion is, but everything looks pretty straightforward to me.

227.88 for 12 tins @18.99 each

-75.96 for the 4 free tins @18.99 each

151.92 balance due for 8 tins @18.99 each.

It appears they are not giving 4 free tins rather using a % discount which is not what they advertised. I read the ad the same way 2D1C quoted. Are we wrong?? Or are they crediting you $14.24 per tin which may be their cost? Still that in my opinion is not living up to the perception given by the advertisement. They need to explain and not blame the "computer program". We have all heard that BS line and it leaves a really bad taste in your mouth afterward!

Lets hear from AGD...

Hmmm I think I found the problem. On the product info page it reads "Buy 4 get the lowest free". So if you wanted 12 tins total then you'd get 3 free ($18.99 *3 = $56.97 discount)

But on the checkout page it reads "Buy 3 tins get the lowest free". So if you wanted 12 tins total then you'd get 4 free ($18.99 *4 = $75.96 discount)

I'll notify AGD of this topic. Hang in there

Unless Im missing something AGD is correct. It has always worked out the right way for me. he paid for 9 tins and got 3 for free totalling 12 tins. (18.99X9=$170.91) If he ordered 12 tins he would have gotten 4 for free for a total of 16 tins. But 12 tins would have cost $227.88 12X18.99=227.88

Once you put the numbers in it will automatically reduce the price for every fourth tin in the web page totals. I just did it there for the halloween buy 4 get 2 free deal. If your not really paying attention you can miss it but i dont think they would advertise it to us and then try to screw us. Sorry that happened to you 2D1C

Michael,

If the screen shot you posted is the "Checkout Page", if doesn't read "Buy 3 tins get the lowest free" , it reads "Buy 3 and Get 1 Pellet tin free"

It's actually not as hard as the OP would want you to think. If you want to get 16 tins total then you put 16 tins in your cart. Seems pretty simple and straight forward to me. You will wind up paying for the 12 most expensive and getting the cheapest 4 free. If you wanted 12 then put 12 in and you will get the 3 cheapest free.

I notified AGD & I'm sure they'll address it.

It is a bit confusing because the product page say "Buy 4 tins & get the lowest priced tin free", yet on the checkout page it says "Buy 3 and get 1 pellet tin free".

Guys I am not trying to get something I didn't pay for. All of us receive but can process information differently. I deal with electrical contractors bidding sometimes 7 figure projects. I am not math stupid. My proposals are written in a format that a grade 10th grade high school kid can understand. We are trained this way. So If I say in a proposal "Buy 3 and the 4th is free" That's pretty clear isn't it? But in this case it comes with a "discount applied" that unfortunately confuses things a bit. But it does keep the inventory and accountant happy.

PA is much clearer. "put 4 in your cart and pay for 3" Order 12, then at checkout it shows 9 in the cart and 3 are free. Clear as hell! I would have added 4 more tins to my purchase. No applied discount monkey business just clear as can be.

I bought 24 tins of JSB MK2 on Saturday.

Subtotal was 431.76 at the going rate of 17.99/ tin.

Discount was 143.92.

Tax was 0.

S&H was free.

Order Total was $287.84

What I paid for was 16 tins of JSB 34 gr pellets

What I didn't pay for was 8 tins of JSB 34 gr pellets because they were free.

Unless my math is wayyyyyyyy off, that is about a 34% discount

There was a special this weekend

Price I paid for 24 tins at a price of $287.84 worked out to $11.99/ tin.
