I have stock Texan tx2 valve .510 cal and am shooting 650 grain spire point bt at 750 fps. I can't keep any adapter for dovetail to pictany adapter s to work with the heavy recoil. No matter how tight they are. I had the utg adapter and it had 3 vertical screws to put forces both ways and eventually failed. I think I'm going to have to drill and tap the receiver and base together. I don't see any other way. In the pictures I put white out around receiver and base so I had a visual to make to check for movement. Help ideas comments appreciated. I tried 3 styles of adapter s and all have eventually failed.

ive driiled receivers before, not to tap them but to run a setscrew in far enough to hold it .. ive pretty much never felt goid about marring up a gun like that though ... id exhaust other ideas first befire doung it again ... maybe ask airforce support what they think and recommend .. also utg stuff although a great value fir budget guns is some of the weakest pot metal aluminum on the planet .. think steel ...

I just bought that utg adapter from pyramid air too wimpanzee it looks well built. So I'm going to try the new ugg adapter and cut off a old scope ring and lock tite it in front of the base. Gerry I tried those style adapters and they move real easy under recoil. I'm trying this and then if it doesn't work last ditch efforts it will go on a mill and get tapped to secure receiver and base together. This is a great community and so appreciate the advise I receive from my peers

Well another 100 rounds down range and the utg adapter is slowly sliding forward. It is super well built and has two set screws. I really don't think any of the adapters are going to hold up to the recoil from my 650 grain slugs. I'm going to buy the eagle vision adapter 11mm to 20mm. It has two set screws and is much lower profile. I have the same Chinese copy of that eagle vision adapter but it does not have set screws and is not as well made. So I'm going to get the eagle vision adapter and drill and tap it to my Airforce permanently. I really don't want to buy the bkl because all the adapter s slide forward from the recoil. Height is a concern to since I'm running the cold shot mil base already. So eagle vision adapter actually threaded in place is what I'm doing next. What's the worst thing that can happen is if the recoil snaps the threads in the Airforce frame. I gotta figure it out slipping bases are not very accurate lol. The bkl and eagle vision are the only adapters I haven't tried yet.

I contacted Airforce and let them know what I was experiencing with the adapter s moving. They were very nice and helpful and I'm trying two of the Airforce pictany adapter s. I am trying to exhaust all options before drilling and tapping the frame. Sorry to beat in your ears but if this info is out here it will help someone else running into the same problem. I will say Airforce customer support is great something you don't see very much today😁. Thank you airgun nation friends. Will keep you updated!

You'll be just fine. Airforce does (for some years now) own BKL. Havent tried any labeled "airforce" but lot's of BKL branded. Pretty sure if you want say 2 piece's you'd want "BKL" but no matter.

Once correctly tightened you can remove the screws and beat them about the head and heck with a mallet and the darns things wont move a bit! I picked up a free set on a gamo 1000 just for that reason, note the spreader screw holes used to ever move the thing.

edit: Just recalled and checked my escape ul which does have an "airforce" bi-pod mount, same extrusion manufacture -and things may be different these day's?- but the finish in the BLK's somehow seems a bit prettier, the af mount does match the af rifles finish though.
