AirForce Guns, Information, mods and tinkering

Mine is in .25 cal. Crosman doesn't make a .25 cal pellet. My go-to pellets are JSB Exact Kings (25.39 gr), JSB Exact King (33.95 gr), Polymag (26 gr), and Eunjin Pointed (43.2 gr) for short distance shots.
Where is your power wheel set at? I keep mine on 5.
This is the nature of barrels...each one responds to different pellets. I'd stick with CPHP's...targets/prey wouldn't notice the difference.
What's your goal, to shoot heavier/harder pellets?

I am looking for some help with installing the super sear 2 into my air force condor ss 25cal (gun has new design safety). The sear installed just as expected. The issue that I am having is that I am not able to cock the hammer. When I try to cock the hammer using the bolt, there is no engagement of the trigger so the hammer has no stop. Does anyone have any suggestions what I have done wrong and how to fix the issue? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve, yes I installed the new spring that came with the sear. When all was done I had 2 springs and the old sear; everything else was used in the installation. The trigger bar requires some downward pressure to compress the spring into gun's frame. When all is put back together and the breach is slid forward to cock the hammer for some reason there is nothing to hold the hammer in a cocked position. How is the hammer supposed to be held in a cocked position?

Hi Steve, I stepped back today and started over again with my issue. I found on the web some diagrams of the airforce trigger and breach operations that you had drawn up in the past. I was able to determine that my issue was that I installed the breach incorrectly; it was backwards. I turned the breach around and all works like a champ. Thanks for the notes and your diagrams. The usual OE (Operator Error) issue ;) Take care; J

Thanks so much, J, for the followup and resolution of the problem!

So. I can't resist asking: How do you like the trigger now, with the Super installed and how does it compare with the factory version?

PS: It's worth mentioning that removing the breech isn't a necessary part of installing the Super, so you I assume you were making some other mod' at the same time.

I just got the Escape ss about 2 months ago. It is a great hunting rifle. it is extremely light and carry friendly. As far as the accuracy I am getting half inch groups at 50 yards with a shooting stick. Of course you get fliers now and again. The sound is very back yard friendly. The impact is louder than the firing after I made a few adjustments. I have the power set on 8.1 with the o ring behind the top hat. I adjusted the top hat down to about 3/16 of an inch. This doubled my shot count. With this combo I am getting about 25 shots before changing POI. I don't have a chrony yet but I am looking to get one soon. Then I can really dial this in. I fill mine with a hand pump the initial fill was about 300 pumps to get to 3000psi. I refill at 2000psi and it takes about 75 pumps. Very manageable. Like I said it is good for hunting I don't need any more than 25 shots. Plinking is a pain in the butt. 25 shots stinks when you just want to shoot stuff. I am very satisfied with this rifle.

Hi Steve, since fixing my issue I had not had much time to try out the sear until yesterday. The sear has made a noticeable difference with the trigger pull. I do not have a way to measure the trigger pull but I would label the pull to be very light now. It is almost to light for some shooting. Over all the pull is smoother and much lighter. As far as the breach problem, yes I installed a new breach. Thanks so much for your help and happy shooting. J

I've had my Condor for almost a year and am finding how under rated they are. I absolutely am impressed how accurate they can be with little modification. I added a Texas Air Adjustable Valve and an Extended R&L Shroud. What an absolute beast. Accuracy, power and stealth.

For a first and only airgun where someone wants a PCP you just can't beat them. They are not regulated, single shot and long. These are the only critiques I could come up with. As for not being regulated, with a good valve like the Texas Air valve, a regulator really isn't necessary. They are very accurate out of the box and will hold their own with much more expensive guns such as the FX Royale, Air Arms and Weihrauch HW100. For a field gun, they just can't be beat. They are extremely rugged, simply designed and easy to repair or tune as needed.

I'm shooting flies at 25 yards with mine.
