Airforce full auto?

The fact that he took the AirForce platform and made it capable of using a magazine is a major accomplishment in its self.

A magazine fed Texan say in .357 would be interesting.

I could really car less about semi/full auto.

One thing about FX, they are always out looking for things they can bring in under their FX brand.

AirForce on the other hand, not making any changes to their platform.

To even have a semio-auto version of the AF platform with a rotary magazine would be GROUND BREAKING! I think AF needs to contact this guy and pull off of his design. It's a brilliant concept. The beauty of that design is the platform could be utilized in a semi-auto state, not needing to utilize a cocking mechanism to cycle through the magazine. If AF looks at this video, and just shrugs their shoulders and shown no interest in this, then they have brain damage!

Its not impressive if you understand pneumatics to turn an air gun into full auto the way this chap did, in fact nothing here is ground breaking or amazing...I certainly hope they look at this video and shrug. If he re-engineers the trigger to provide 1 shot per trigger pull and makes this truly semi auto, then we an have this discussion...otherwise its FULL auto only when the bolt is unlocked, and single fire if you lock the bolt...

I'm with you 100%. A full auto air rifle is functionally useless IMO. It's a novelty. That's it. But semi-auto is another story. That's why I said if AF was willing to look into an upgrade (i.e. a magazine fed version with a side cocking lever, or a semi-auto version) I think they could become a major player again. But they seem dogmatic about their design. The guns are mechanically simple compared to some of the higher end PCP's, but the simplicity lends itself to longevity and reliability. I don't hear about AF rifles failing. I own one. You'll always eventually need to replace o-rings, but that goes without saying on every air rifle. But I've taken my rifle apart many times, and it's easy to keep track of components and put it back together without issue.

But if AF could develop a rifle that takes a magazine, and it's side cocking or semi-auto, I'd be all over it. ESPECIALLY in a big bore model.

The AK-47 is one of the greatest assault weapon designs in history. They have very few moving parts in comparison to other assault rifles, and they utilize a "gas check" to cycle the receiver instead of using recoil alone. This is historically proven to be less prone to jamming as rifles that are dependent on utilizing recoil solely to cycle the receiver are also dependent on the shooter providing a rigid level of shouldering to allow for the recoil to do it's work. If you shoulder it too softly, or shoot it from the hip, the chances of a jam increase exponentially. Not so with the AK-47. Despite what you might be thinking, I'm not comparing apples to oranges. The AK-47 is the assault rifle version of a platform using pneumatics integrated into it's functionality to make it one of the most reliable designs ever made. So if AF designed a version that tapped into the pneumatics to cycle that magazine and reset the hammer spring, then that would be AMAZING!
