Air Venturi nomad just quit.

Oh man sorry to hear this! I don't personally own one of those AV compressors but have a few questions.

What color is the oil, is it black? Does it sound any different when you run it now? Have you played with the auto stop adjuster?

Is the burst disc ok? No air leaks anywhere? Coolant level fine no leaks? Temperature normal?

Is everything tight and the connectors hoses and plug in wiring connectors checked and firm?

I have read something from a different post a wired sensor connector got loose and the connector

wasn't plugged in all the way. It was for another model but they are generally designed the same from China.

You should check the wiring connectors be sure everything is plugged in firmly.

Fingers crossed...

They want me to send it in for repairs. Im in southern Illinois and bought it through a local dealer. The tone did change on it, the burst disc was good, I even changed it. It just quit sucking air each time and wouldn’t pump, I have followed all of the oiling and cleaning procedures and still doesn’t work. When it works I love the little compressor, I’m hoping they will upgrade me to the nomad2. I was told I had one of the very early ones and they have a few issues. I noticed it pumping slower about 2 weeks ago airing up my streamline to 230bar. It won’t build pressure with a dead head now.

Did your pump come with extra orings? My Benjamin traveler pump (same design-ish) came with a rebuild kit.

I bet you lost an inside seal. Just throwing out ideas... Did you allow the unit to overheat?

I know i am flirting with failure by filling my tanks. I keep my runs to 10-15 mins max, then allow 15 mins cool off before restarting. I also do not try to start against a pressurised hose. I bleed off the pressure and moisture between pump runs, allow the pressure to build to nearly what is in the tank before i open the main valve.

Hope you get back in action asap.

Sorry kinda late to the party, but will partake if I can.

After my experience with the AV booster, I would never buy another AV pump or recommend one, ever, again.

Exactly my same frustration. These things are expensive to ship and heavy, it gets to you defective, and now you have to ship it on your dime? To get service? No, thanks.

I ended up getting my money back, and got an Altaros Booster from a member here. Been happy as a lark ever since. I will probably have to rebuild it one day, that day I will be posting here crying and asking for guidance, but I hear it’s really no big deal.

Yeah I’m not too happy with them right now. I called to see if they got it, they did and said it would be two weeks till they will look at it! So I might look into a different compressor. And not buy anything from them again. They even acted like my dealer wasn’t an actual dealer. I’m not impressed with them at all.

Mine was sent in on their dime for repairs under warranty, I got it back and did not last 2 tank fills. Back it went & this time demanded a refund. They agreed. Either way, have seen way too many times this same story repeated here.

There is an obvious lack of QC in these products. Regardless of made in China or not, iPhones are made in China, and quality is, for the most part, top notch.

When I grow up, I want to get a BA gas powered compressor.
