Air Tank and Gun Reading Different Pressures

First time Air Tank owner here. I just received my Joe B. Air Tank and had it filled yesterday. It appears to be made of all high quality materials. I just filled my new FX Crown MK2 for the first time and there is a slight difference in pressure readings between the two. My gun is reading 220 bar while my air tank is reading 250 bar.

Is this common, and which one is more likely to be correct? Being a safety guy, I stopped filling when the air tank gauge reached 250.

By the way, I will NEVER go back to the hand pump. It’s amazing how quick and easy it is to fill a gun with an air tank.

@jason My Air Venturi tank doesn’t have a gauge to measure internal pressure, only discharge pressure. What I have noticed is that after the tank pressure drops below 3000 psi and I take it in for a refill I ask the person at the scuba shop to show me their pressure reading on my tank before filling. Last fill the machine read 2551 and my Bulldog read 2500. This let me know that my gun’s gauge is accurate. Until you can do something like that perhaps you can find some sort of gauge you can attach to your tank’s fill line to measure pressure. Without knowing for sure l think you have the right idea by using the highest reading of the two gauges to avoid possibly over pressurizing your gun’s reservoir.
