Air Rifle Newbie

So I'm an air rifle newbie. I'm looking for a multi-purpose rifle that I can use in air soft tournaments and one that I can also use to exterminate small pests. (bb's for airsoft tournaments & pellets for pests)
After doing a bit of research, I was not able to find anything (either there's way too much or maybe i'm looking for something to specific).
I would prefer a bolt-action air rifle rather than a break-barrel because that seems pretty slow to reload. Same for killing pests if I miss.
Is there anything on the market similar to what I'm looking for?

Welcome!
Airsoft is it's own world, not anything close to pellet firing Airguns. Airsoft is designed to fire 25mm plastic bbs at people. The projectiles are designed NOT to penetrate or injure their target, and protective clothing is worn.
Pellet guns are designed for either target shooting or hunting, never ever to be shot at people! Pellet guns are capable of killing animals as large as deer and should be treated like firearms as far as safety is concerned.
So get one gun for Airsoft. Get a pellet gun for hunting or target shooting. Do NOT shoot at people with a pellet gun!

"Tominco"Here's why I'm seeing as the main issue in finding what you're looking for.
Air soft = light, plastic bb's = "ok" for shooting at people.
Air rifles = steel bb's or pellets = NOT ok to shoot at people!

Hey Tom. I will respectfully submit that airsoft should be treated with great care as far as “shooting at people”. A close friend’s child lost his eye to his older brother careless handling of an airsoft gun.

Oh... absolutely!!
From what I've seen, those that partake in air-soft competition/events wear personal protective equipment. Especially, eye and face protection.
Sorry to hear about your friend's child. I'll admit, I've been slacking a little bit recently with my own eye protection. You mentioning it just gave me kick in the rear-end to get my act together. Thanks!

Actually, a break barrel is pretty quick an easy to load if you're standing, Not so much if you shoot sitting, prone or off a bench. With practice I got so I could quickly cock and reload for follow up shot without looking at the gun or pellet. My first PCP was a single shot bolt action. I did find that gun a little fussy to load, especially when scoped.

"seananamous"what type of airsoft rifles do y'all use? I'm looking for a pellet rifle that doesn't have a break barrel system. They seem a bit cumbersome.
Break barrels can be ok and they're usually pretty cheap but very hold sensitive. I have a Benjamin Classic .22 that i've slayed plenty of squirrels and rats with and it's deadly accurate within maybe 20 yards so I keep it as an ambush hunter. Some people with better guns and/or more patience for them can do better, what a PCP can do is stretch the accuracy and lethality out to 100+ yards. But a springer is a great and cheap way to start, I don't recommend any Gamo air rifle.
