I HAVE A LEAK ON STANLESS STEEL LINE GOING IN HIGH PERSURE BLOCK WERE THE LINE GOES INTO FITTING CAN I REPLACE JUST THE LITTLE BLACK SEAL DO I HAVE TO GET NEW LINE . SORRY ABOUT NOT KNOWING WHAT TO CALL THESE PARTS CARP
If it’s the compression fitting, did you try tightening with 2 wrenches? If it’s the dowty seal between the fitting and aluminum block, you can replace it and should have them in your spare parts kit that comes with the compressor.
Like mentioned hold the fitting with one wrench and tighten the line on the compression fitting with the other they need to be pretty tight. Best way to get them good-n-tight is to get the wrenches close enough together so you can grip them with your hands and then squeeze them together.
If that doesn't werq if you are lucky you can get the compression fitting off of the line with a pair of pliers. Twist to loosen and pull at the same time.
Sometimes you can replace it other times the fitting will gouge the line and even if you get it off the new one will not seal.
Lines are cheap. They come with the compression fittings.
I use valve lapping compound to get these to seal. Have to get the surfaces happy with eachother (rotate mating surfaces against eachother with compound applied as best you can, might need to take other end of line loose to be able to do this) then clean the compound off and assemble.
The lines and fittings don't always go back on at the same angle they were initially installed. Lapping them does do the trick to get them to seal.
If it's the dowdy seal (rubber seal in a steel ring), these blow all the time. I've replaced my dowdy seals multiple times. Should be two extras in the parts kit that came with your kit. I'd pick up extras.
I've had my yong heng start leaking after the second time i used it. I guess the vibrations can loosen things a bit. I have just used a bit of pressure and retighten everything up and all was good again. Mine was leaking from the top of the piston where the high pressure comes out.
