Air gun addiction

John, how'd you get that globe front sight on your bluestreak? I've been thinking about how to do that for a while and can only figure I have to get some jb weld and grind down the stock front sight then scab it on there somehow. Bet it's sweet with the rear peep! And, I have the williams rear peep. Yours looks different, what is it?

5 airguns, totally addicted but functional. Still in that stage where I don't think anyone knows. Work isn't suffering yet. You guys aren't helping. I don't think you have my best interests at heart. lol! Great thread!

Andy-My Bluestreak came to me with a busted off front sight. There was a guy by the name of Greg Lundy a few years back who developed a scope base for the pump-ups that is really sturdy. He called it the "Integrabase". I modified mine to mount the front sight which has a 3/8" dovetail mount. The sight is from a Daisy Avanti and available from Pyramyd Air. Here's a link to my process:

Unfortunately Greg seems to have dropped off the map, hope he's OK! I spoke with him by phone for nearly an hour when I bought my mount, the guy is an enthusiast to say the least, he posted a target of a very respectable 50 shot group at 50 yards with a Benjamin pump-up!
With a little ingenuity and perhaps a bit of machining I think you could do something similar.
Right now that gun is wearing an ultra dot that my son had lying around and I have to say it's really fun to shoot like that! I'm going to try for bunnies with it when the season opens....

My wife always asks me, "why another gun, you have only two hands". Can't argue with that, but how many days are there on one week? Zeven right. Or 30.5 on average in a month. Or 365 days in a year. I'm almost at the point that I have one for each day in the week. Next step; one for each day in a month. There's never a good argument for not investing in steel, since steel - like gold - is a good stable commodity.

Addicted? Maybe... I'll let you decide.

Owning:
- Feinwerkbau 300S
- Weihrauch HW30S
- Diana 340 N-Tec Luxus Pro
- FX Indenpendence
- Crosman 2240

In the process of buying:
- Walther LG90
- Feinwerkbau 300S Universal

So that would be 7 airguns, one for each day of the week. Makes sense, right?! And then there's that powder burning stuff I own, but we're not going to mention that.... :p

I guess I'm no better. Bought a Winchester 1400CS .177, then found the Crosman variant one model 160 Pellgun in the closet & restored that with Ron Robinson scope mounts & 70's weaver V22-A 3-6 scope, fixed up an '87 Crossman AIR17 .177,...then, just last evening, went on amazon & bought a Hatsan Striker 1000x with Turkish Walnut stock, 3-9x32 scope for $119.47 out the door. Still looking for the 1966-70 Crosman 760 Powermaster that went mia. Over & above my smoke poles & other old rifles. And as of 10/21, I bought the Hatsan Striker 1000x & Hammer 3-9x32AO scope for it & will sell Winchester. Too late for me...

As I've said before; you all suffer from the dreaded A.A.D.-Airgun Acquisition Disorder. There is no cure, no vaccine, no 12 step program. The only relief is...just one more. Be gentle when you break the news of your diagnosis to your significant other. Advise he or she that interfering with the progression of this disorder would be very insensitive. If you do not make the next purchase, you run the risk of excruciating boredom and painful normalcy. Please...just do it!

There was a legend about a man whose air gun addiction was allegedly broken by his significant other. She used an intricate and some would say cruel combination of blackmail, ultimatums, guilt trips and torture.

The man was forced to sell all but one of his air rifles. He was banned was spending time on forums or discussing new air guns. He had to promise to not buy another air gun unless he sold the one he had left first under the threat of being made homeless if he didn't comply.

Without the thrill of purchasing new air rifles and the joy of having something to look forward to, life started to feel pointless to his tortured soul. He stopped working as he had no more use for money. He lost his "umf" for life. He stopped showering or shaving and began to look and smell homeless. He developed the worst case of OCD his doctors had ever seen. His wife ended up leaving him anyway as he was a mere shell of the person he used to be. He spent his days scurrying down the streets with a thousand yard stare in his empty eyes. He had no idea where he was going and there was nobody left to ask.

I'm told by a reliable source that the man eventually just evaporated. What was left of his physical being just drifted off into the atmosphere life a fart in the wind, and was inhaled by passing motorists.

Apparently there is a lesson in there somewhere but so far it eludes me.

Well, just to add to the story, I got the Hatsan delivered today from New E Shop on amazon. Instead of the Striker 1000x, they sent me the 1000s. And instead of .22, this one is .177. They either bait-n-switched, or got it totally wrong? It's going back. I then ordered it from Midway for $108.73 vs $119.47 from amazon! Strange what addictions will make you do?..
