Air Arms T200 Ammo

Its an ammo question but specifically dealing with the AA T200 so I thought I would put it here rather than the ammo forum.

I have a new T200 on the way and it is my first PCP. I intend to use it solely for 10 meter target shooting.

I know every rifle has its own tastes and want to buy several types of pellets to test, but to start, I thought folks who own or have owned an AA200 might know whether they have shown any preference regarding weight.

I don't need long range, or penetration, or velocity; just accuracy at 10 meters. I would rather get a tin of JSB, H&N, AA & RWS of one weight rather than spread my purchase out over all the weights. Perhaps it isn't possible but if there is a general tendency for heavy or for light weight pellets that makes the testing more efficient.

Any suggestions?

sjs,

First, let me say, great choice for your first! Mine is an absolute tack driver. That Czech barrel...

Mine really liked H&N 8.18 gr wadcutters when it was “factory tuned”. Tip: you can get a better deal on these from a website called Champions Choice. They sell them branded with their name but the pellets are made for them by H&N.

After I tuned the rifle for what I found to be optimal for accuracy at my range (30 yards), it shoots best with JSB Exact Heavy 10.34 gr.

Best,

Matt

SJS: Study the photo below to see the results of my tests using 2 10 shot groups of each pellet at both 18 yards indoors and 50 yards outdoors. I have also included a group shot this morning at 18 yards indoors with the AA Diablo Field. I hope this helps.
