Air Arms S510 (Ultimate Sporter/TDR), Q-tec moderator removal?

Yes you will need a little bit of heat and a pretty strong grip to separate the moderator from the shroud. At first the shroud came off with the moderator on mine, but a little more heat and a good grip on both the shroud and the moderator and it was separated. Just be sure not to use any tools other than a strap wrench because you will risk smashing the shroud and the moderator with anything else.

Thanks for the reply man and great video btw! I noticed in your review you said that they gave you a thread protector but the threads weren't the same? That adapter will work but you have to remove the male/male adapter from the end of the shroud. It goes: shroud- male/male adapter- Q-tec. I just grabbed one of those rubber, jar opener things from the kitchen to get a good grip on the Q-tec and it spun right off easily. When I got it off the adapter stayed in the moderator and I'm guessing yours stayed in the shroud? Anyway, just thought I'd let you know. It looked like they did try to loctite mine but they didn't use enough and prob. the way they bathe everything in oil didn't help either lol.

I'm happy, I just wanted to get the mod off to clean the barrel. I bet a similar size or even smaller DonnyFl ldc would work better than this Q-tec. The internals in the Q-tec look so jammed up with chunky, fancy aluminum baffles that there isn't much volume left inside even though the ldc itself is massive. I think the threads on the Air Arms shrouds have always been 1/2-20 unf so a DonnyFl should fit right on if I can separate the Q-tec from the adapter. Maybe later...
