AGT Vulcan 3 power plenum.

Recently picked up a Vulcan 3 30cal 500mm. In the official AGT video for this rifle they discuss how you can disassemble the air chamber and reverse it. In turn making a larger plenum for higher power. In the video they say instructions for that procedure will be separate. I've emailed AGT twice asking if the could send me the instructions for this but no response! Has anyone done this with there Vulcan3??? It may be a simple process but I figured I'd ask before I attempt this on my own...

If you bought it from Talon Tunes it may already be set to the large side of the plenum. I know he orders the long version that way from the factory.

Kenney Nash (Southern Gunner) did a video on it. Mr Nash suffered a stroke not long ago and is still recovering. Give him a thumbs up and comment on youtube if you like his work. Click the youtube button bottom right on the video. I'll start the video at the right spot for you. You can screw a 3 inch long 4mm bolt into the top of the reg to pull it out if you don't want to use pliers.

My Vulcan 3 came with a regulator installed in the wrong place as a consequence of the spacer missing + the breathe hole for the regulator drilled in the wrong place, so i had my gun apart a few times.

And it is absolutely no problem to do that, the only minus being you have to totally bleed the gun and bottle with the bleed screw

You should be able to see the breathe holes though very small indeed and so be able to judge if the gun are in big or small plenum mode. The regulator bleed hole to look for is 3 - 4 inched from the end of the pipe ( also holes in either end where the thread is in the plenum pipe, but the one breathe hole for the regulator is further in on the gun.

regarding getting regulator in / out i just pushed it out with my cleaning rod

If the rifle are in small plenum mode the 2 hole end will be in the end of the pipe nearest to the shooter, if in big plenum mode the pipe is turned 180 degree and the reg breathe hole are furthest from the shooter.

The orientation of the REG and Spacer pipe are always the same ( as i have added to the picture ) in small plenum mode the spacer pipe keep regulator from being pushed by the high pressure side to the very end of the pipe and so create the small plenum, in large plenum mode the spacer keep REG from "middle" of pipe and more forward away from shooter.

I have a .177 so clearly no need for me to go big plenum.

Kenny / SG video on the Vulcan 3, also talking about REG / plenum in it.

PS: when assembling you can easy screw the parts together too much, i did that replacing my new pipe, and i was like WTH they made it the wrong size now, but it wasent just me cranking ( by hand ) too much down on things.

I would not fill with air like Kenny do before assembly, i would just assemble it correct and then fill it.

PPS. When filling from completely empty you might have to cock it for the air to not just go thru the gun and out the barrel.

AGT are very bad with service in regard to drawings and parts lists, the provided documentation are also a bit lackluster IMO, and there is nothing to DL from their site.

I also mailed them though before release of V3, and i never got a RPLY either,,,,, this kind of stuff do worry me as i think on customer care and service, it is the only place a little company can compete with the big boys and win, without spending a whole lot of money doing so.

Ok, new problem!!! Moved the reg to the bottle side no problem, actually really easy. I went to air back up my gun and now when I go to bleed my tank from my gun it dumps all the air. With the valve closed on my tank ( fill source ) it holds air fine but can't remove from the fill probe with dumping all the air from the gun! Am I missing something???

Contact Derrick Wall aka @zx10wall. He's the service guy in the USA. He just fixed one like this and would know the fix. Believe it's a little screw and oring behind the fill port that comes loose.

Contacted Derrick and he said to tighten the screw in the drop down than back off 1/2 turn. I'll try it tomorrow after work. Thanks for passing along his info!

Great information, just purchased a Vulcan 3 30 from a member and had a problem out of the box.. Was able to narrow down the issue (bad reg) and am waiting on parts. Seems strange to me ther is no o-ring between the valve house hold and the transfer port to the barrel. My Edgun is set up very similar but there a o-ring..

Thanks again AGN!!! you saved lots of hassle and money.....

It's a tight fit and only sees a short pressure pulse so there's no need for a o-ring. I like mine but I really wish AGT would use a standard .300" barrel rather than .306". I plan to rebarrel it.

I would be very interested in your barrel swap and what you figured out.. I purchased my vulcan 3 used, without a factory shroud. The original owner fabricated a carbon fiber shroud.. Agt sells factory shourds for $195.00 shipped. I like the looks of the fabricated shroud, but have had issues with it constantly.. I finally got it shooting well but if I disassemble the gun my poi is way off.. it has never been as accurate or dependable as my edgun, daystate or fxs..

What did the original owner do with the oem shroud ? Surely he didn't toss it out.

I am not sure? When I purchased the airgun I asked him to include the original factory shroud. He stated he used it to modify the current shroud project and it was no longer usable. I tried to contact AGT directly 4 different ways but never got a reply. I then contacted Tony @ talon and was told AGT did not sell the shrouds separately Then a member here told me to try AoA so I did. Shane contacted AGT and I got a reply the next morning.

Current my barrel is covered with a carbon fiber tube 21od 14.1 id which makes it really stiff. It fits snug on the barrel and adds a bit of tension -between the end block and suppressor. I will try this for a bit and see how it works out.

I can only see two breath holes total. I'm assuming the other one near the end is under the aluminum strap in the front. Mine is configured so that the hole farthest from the tubes end is in front (muzzle end) making it small plenum oriented. Still getting 115 fpe at the moment with 50gr pellets..

The bottom of the 2 holes are a correct hole i think, to bleed air in case end O-ring burst.

But the above hole thru which the regulator bleed air, well on my cylinder it is made to accommodate the placement of the regulator just fine so it worked just fine, just the regulator did not have the spacer piece and so sat at the very end of the pipe and so the plenum of regulated air was like 2-3 CC of air.

That also worked even for a FAC rifle like mine, and it being a .177 rifle, i am sure in .22 ir bigger you would want more regulated air.

Lemme see if i can snap a pic, i have the replacement installed on the V3 and i still have the " broken " tube too.

I guess I do have the setup in large plenum config now that I think about it. Yes 3cc's isn't much.
