AGT URAGAN Compact

Hey Clifford, I ordered a AGT Uragan Compact in 1.77 from TT and it should be delivered end of next week. I still have not decided which Scope to go with yet, but hope to figure that out soon and be up and running in a couple weeks. Can't wait :) Thanks again for all the pic's and info.

Eric

I purchased mine from TT and it was a smooth transaction. You will be very pleased with this weapon.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I can not begin to tell you how happy I am with my ATN scope. The night vision is nice and all, but the ability to swap between rifles with various combinations of barrels/liners is where it really earns its stripes. The QD mount holds a zero quite well and I have various profiles saved for my different setups. No more re-zeroing when moving between the different setups and with the ABL attached, I don't even have to memorize the various hold-overs.

If you or anyone can figure out how to safely "tune" this rifle and are willing to share that information I would be supremely grateful.

Hey Clifford, Glad to hear you had a smooth transaction from TT. I have heard good things about TT and there was no hesitation in ordering from them.

I need to dig out my ATN X-Site 2, upgrade the firmware and give it another go. Currently leaning towards a SIGHTRON 26015 S Tac Series Riflescope, 4-20x50mm, MOA-2 Reticle:

Tony will be reaching out to me this week and I will ask him about tuning. The 10.34 is my prefered pellet, but I want to try out the available slugs and would suspect tuning would come into play then.

I'm in the same boat man. Let me know what you find out.

Uragan compact owners:

How does the gun sound to the shooter's ear?

Is there ping, hammer slap, etc? Inquiring ears want to know

My gen4 AGT Vulcan does transmit some hammer slap to my ear when I shoot it.

Matt

Almost no ping & very little hammer compared to other similar pups. All of the noise comes from the muzzle. The barrel is short & the OEM AGT moderator is universal (bored to .30 cal) and not as effective as one would like.

Got to do a bit of shooting this morning. Basically zeroing my scope and pellet culling before the heat got unbearable.

My Uragan short likes pellets in this order:

  1. JSB 18g (840fps)
  2. JSB Hades (900fps)
  3. H&N Baracuda Hunter Extremes
  4. H&N Baracuda Hunter
  5. H&N Baracuda
  6. JSB Jumbo Monster Redesigns
  7. Predator Polymags
  8. NSA 217 19g

I love putting holes in Splatterburst targets! I used each 1'' intersection to document the vertical and horizontal clicks needed for each pellet at 25y & 50y (the extent of my range).

I'm guessing it didn't like the heavier pellets because it couldn't push them fast enough. Interestingly enough, every single projectile fit into the AGT magazine.

On the Uragan compact, I don't understand why AGT attached such a small bottle to the gun. It could still be small and have a larger bottle.

Any ideas? Is the mount for the bottle standardized with other makers and could another, larger bottle be easily adapted?

Just makes no sense to couple small gun with micro bottle, in fact it looks undersized.

Thanks,
