AGT Uragan .30 replaced and all Good!

So I decided to buy a Uragan .30 based on a few factors such as quality, big air cylinder, forward cocking lever, trigger and CZ barrel all in a small package. So I order it and patiently wait. Well today she arrived so I picked it up at the ups center so I don't have to wait for delivery. Opening the box reveals a very nicely made bullbup. I put a scope on it and try to unscrew the shroud to expose the barrel to make it easier to feed my crown saver through the shroud. Problem is the shroud won't budge...yes I know.its suppose to unscrew but this baby is on there and without me adding some kind of heat to it I'm afraid it's not budging. I always clean the barrels on a new rifle to get any factory residue etc out of it before shooting.

Well I move onto the next thing which is to get it on paper. I quickly get it sighted in at 30 yards and then move it to 40 and shoot a 5 shot group. Very nice single whole for 5 shots I can easily cover with a dime. Very satisfied with it's accuracy.

I then bring it in the house and fill to 300 bar it's reccomended fill pressure and decide to Chrono it to make sure it's shooting as expected. The shot string started out at 896fps then steadily dropped nearly every shot. After 4 magazines (36) shots it was down to 784fps...that's over a 100fps drop of velocity. I then grab another gun and shoot it over the Chrono and it's fine...telling me the regulator is not working. I then filled it back to 300bar and the first shot was 895fps then fell drastically every shot. After 1 mag(9) shots it fell over 60fps. Obviously the regulator isn't working and this is dumping air quickly.

To be fair until this problem is resolved I will not name the dealer...I immediately contacted him and told him of the problem. The rifle was shipped back after only having it 4 hours. I just don't think a new out of the box should have a major problem like this....yes it was function checked and chronoed before it was sent to me. I understand sometimes these things happen but this is a first for me after being in the hobby over 25years. Hopefully my new rifle...yes I wanted another Uragan ..hooefully the replacement will be as

expected. Here is a few pics before I shipped it back.

Wow, I can just imagine how she'll shoot with a working regulator. Nice group.

On a side note. I hardly ever fill any of my guns past 220 bar, even the ones that are rated for 250 bar. My Boss is rated for 250 but I usually just fill to 200 or 210 bar when looking for a tighter extreme spread. 300 bar just seems like a lot of pressure to be putting on the high side of a regulator?

Now you have me curious if Derrick fills his Uragan to 300 BAR? Hopefully he will weigh in!

Thanks for sharing the info with yours. Not seeing many folks sharing their experiences with theirs?

Fuss

Fuss the reason I filled to 300 bar is I wanted to get a full fill and get a full shot string on record just to see what it was doing. I do this to all my guns and will keep the shot string as a reference if I ever have any problems down the road. The .30 Uragan is suppose to get around 50 shots per fill.

I understand buddy.Plus there was obviously something wrong as fast as those velocities were dropping.

Wow, seems like it would get more shots than that with a 300 Bar fill? I get close to 35 shots on a 220 bar fill with the Boss, but usually only fill to 200 or 210 bar for a good solid 25 shots shooting the 44.75 gr at around 879 fps avg.

Anyway, thanks for the great info and look forward to your shot strings when you get her back.

Sorry to hear of this reg issue you’ve experienced. I look forward to hearing how this gets resolved for you Kdog. I think you’ll enjoy the gun once all is squared away.

I’m getting a little over 50 regulated shots with my .30 Uragán from a 250 bar fill. That is usually the maximum fill level I fill to but it’s clearly marked 300 bar max.

This is the case with many PCPs now having max fills of 300 bar, i.e., EDguns, Kalibrgun & Airgun Technology. I have no reservation about a 300 bar fill being safe with these guns. However, from 300 bar to 250 bar, you won’t get good efficiency. Seems the law of diminishing returns applies when filling over 250 bar.

Howdy Keith! Been a long time Buddy!!! :<)

Sure hate to hear of the issue. One of the new toys I've been eying. Out shooting on the bench tonight at 1:30 am. Nice out tonight!

KnifeMaker

Hey Knife ...yes it's been awhile hasn't it lol. I guess we've been into Airguns for quite awhile haven't we !?! Glad to see your still into the hobby...hope all is well!

As long as this is taken care of it's all good.

So I just wanted to follow up with this and say I got the replacement rifle and everything seems to be working as intended. I haven't ran a Chrono string yet but the new rifle definately isn't looseing air like the first one. I put about 6 mags through it after filling to 250 bar and didn't notice a poi shift at 50 yds until the last mag and I'd say it started coming off the regulator at about 130bar.

I will now tell you that I got this rifle from Tony at Talon Tunes and he took care of this problem in a timely manner. No complaints at all and I understand these things sometime happen even with the best made products. So that being said I already have my eye on one other rifle Tony sells and he will be getting more.of my business in the.near future.

One other thing I want to mention is when I placed my order I ordered a DonnyFL Sumo moderator. When I received the rifle the moderator was not in the box but a roll of shipping tape was in the box as soon as I opened it. I called Tony and he said he shipped it with the rifle. So somewhere along the line someone at UPS opened the box and took out the moderator and replaced it with a roll of shipping tape. That's the only explanation I can think of. Anyway Tony shipped me another moderator a Ronin because he was out of the Sumos. So he went above and beyond resolving 2 problems I had with this order.

Lastly the Ronin looks great on this.gunans really makes.it backyard friendly....I would highly reccomend it.

wow! good looking AG, and love the Bipod!!!

I've been casting and testing slugs for the last, well, quite a few years now. I wonder how this new offering would fair with a good TJ's slug barrel. so far I have .223, .250. .257 and will be installing a .172 next. All heavily carbon fiber tube wrapped. Man, they are accurate!

It would probably take me a couple of days to have it shooting slugs. I can't remember the last time I sent a factory pellet down range. heck, I eve cast the pellets for my air pistols. LOL

I've been using a pcp pp700 hopped up and shooting both slugs and pellets night hunting scorpions here on my range. Man. well over 1700 killed so far. I have a 365 nm black light mounted to it. Man, they really stand out at night. The reflex sight on the gun makes missing almost impossible. ;<)

The Uragan with a black light and a good reflex sight would be a very handy ag for me. Not so much trips back to the shop to re-air. LOL!!

Keith, what does it weigh, and what is the oal?
