AGT .22 Uragan First Impressions!

Get one Jimmy! You'll love it!

John that must be a very hard wait if you already have it! But I'm assuming they all come with a soft case at least the Uragans.

Nice guns you got there Bob! My favorite caliber is .30 but it's WAY overkill for my needs or else I'd have a .30 on the way as we speak lol. .22 is much more versatile for me.

Awesome groups !! Hate it when work interrupts a shooting session

Thanks! Yeah it sucks but if it weren't forecast to rain today I'd be taking the Uragan with me to put some work in. We have a dairy and my main use of airguns is pesting so it's got its benefits. But lots of hours a day 6 days a week sometimes 7 lol

I decided to setup the scope for good today. Went with the 30MOA in the scope rings. Got it all leveled and validating my holdovers at different ranges. These are 3 5 shot groups at 70yds with the 18gr. Horizontal variation is very tight but vertical on all 3 were spread out alittle much for my liking. Could have been me. Could be the tune at 915fps. Could be the gun still breaking in as I have maybe 120 pellets through it. But really not bad for just getting used to the gun!

2 5 shots with the JSB Hades at 70yds also. Alittle big smaller groups than the 18gr surprisingly and about 1 mil lower drop at 70yds vs the 18gr. These are in the 955fps range.

I also tried some VK 22.5gr slugs at 50yds. First group is 5 shots and 2nd is 7 shots. Pretty impressed with how these were shooting!

Hi ya Jimmy!

Orion, I have a Raptor Mini due in here tomorrow. I know you probably don't know me, but Dillon does, and knows my shooting ability. I will be testing both barrels. It will have both .22 an .25 TJ's barrel kits comes with it.

I will be testing JSB, H&N baracuda, NOE Cast .22 and .25 pellets as well as several Lugs of my on design and casting as well as some of Nicks. Add to this mix, it is equipped with the prototype JSAR External adjustable Reg. As far as I know the only one in he wild up to this point . This is gonna get interesting! :<)

Only set back, is the wife has surgery tomorrow, and I fear I may miss FedEx. their "Manage Shipments' is not working tonight. GRRRR!!!

Knife! I DO KNOW YOU BROTHER!!!! I'm active on GTA too and I'm following the Raptor Mini Gracious :) forum and I do have a lot of interest on your results too!! Specially with the NOE Casting slugs, because I was thinking seriously going that route some time ago, but stopped because the Taipan was not grouping well with those pellets, but now with the new Raptor things can change and is in you where I have my eyes!

I was asking Dillon because I know he has experience with the other brands, and that's the feedback I was looking for. I'm getting anxious while waiting on the mini, (actually I'm needing it for my videos) that's why I was asking him what's his recommendation, but again, I need to take a deep breath and see if I can hold on and wait for that mini to be shipped.

Knife, my prayers with your wife. Hope everything goes well! I'll keep reading, on both forums! Your feedback is much appreciated!!

Looks like you got a shooter there douger! I really like that rail extension good idea!

Orion I will be giving my thoughts on the Raptor Mini when I get it. I think it'll be worth the wait. I was a prototype tester for the original Gen1 SS valve in the Mrods and loved it! Knowing that the Gen2 in the Raptor is even better and what the gun is all about I'm very excited for it.

And knowing Mike he'll be able to show it off better than I can!

I'm seeing a lot of post lately on the Uragan and nobody talks about the trigger is it OK? Better than OK? As good as the Taipan? Is the hammer tension easily adjusted? How about the regulator is that easily adjusted? I'm thinking seriously about adding either a Taipan or Uragan to my collection in 25 cal mostly to carry around in the back seat of the truck for hunting purposes.

Yes the trigger is good and easily adjusted but to me the Taipan trigger is better. Hammer spring tension is also easily adjusted but you do have to take the stock off to adjust the trigger and hammer spring. I have both rifles and although I really like the Vet as a all purpose do everything bullpup, I'd say the Uragan would be a better dedicated hunting rig. Reason being the forward cocking lever. But really it's a toss up...2 really good PCPs. Some people don't think this is a big deal but the Uragan does have a plastic trigger blade and that bothers me personally.
