AGN agonizingly slow... AGAIN!

7:45AM, pages are slow to load on my PC.

I thought it was just my antiquated equipment...

Nope. It’s 4:02 PM here on the east coast and its stilll slow. For most of the day it was locked completely (to me at least).

Hell, I even logged in to GTA for the first time in months!

Is it possible AGN is experiencing a "denial of service attack"?

I'm sure some of the hunting videos have pissed off a few PETA members.

Yesterday it was rather speedy. I just logged on and it's about like a dying snail today. This has to be the most inconsistant site I visit as far as speed of loading a page or thread.

The owner of this site is wasting money on his server. As for the rest of us, we are getting what we pay for.

Atlas Airguns is a good alternative for when this site is down.

I do believe they're making progress very very snappy this evening.

It’s super slow again tonight. 30 minutes ago it timed out trying to get in. Now is super slow loading pages and posting. I guess I’ll mosey over yonder to the other site until they fix this one…

Internet problems or AGN problems?

Seems to be an ongoing issue on this site. Frustrating to say the least. However, since I don't run a forum site, I can't throw any dirt clods.

I don't know what the owner is paying for his site to be on the internet. If it is a lot, he is not getting his monies worth.

I’ve noticed extremely slow page loading as well but didn’t want to be the only one complaining ……. Again and again. Therefore, unfortunately, I just have to get my AG fix over at the other site even though this is my preferred hangout.

You always know the issue is back when you start seeing double posts. Guys think nothing is happening and hit Submit a second time. I too have stopped complaining. I just go elsewhere for a couple days. It's been made clear we pay nothing to be members here, so we have no right to complain.

Therein lies the problem. There are close to 600,000 members here, you'd think that one fourth would donate a few dollars, no? I for one have donated. It's easy enough to do, just click on the GREEN "Donate to AGN" button at the lower right bottom of the page and give it a go. A few bucks for all of this knowledge is nothing compared to the amount spent on every air gun we buy. We should consider it as a part of the cost of running our air hobby.

In it's basic form you are right. Free site. But, they have a ton of sponsors here, sponsors wouldn't pay to be in the banners and ads if the amount of customers generated for them via this site didn't justify their cost. Site traffic here slows down, rates they charge the sponsors goes down. So it does benefit the forum owners to make the site efficient and attract as many members as they can. Same principle as good old fashioned "free' network television. You can watch the Superbowl for free with an antennae, companies pay millions for ad time. Why? Because 100's of millions of people watch the Superbowl and will see their ad. 

There is not a donate button at the lower right bottom of this page, the classifieds page or the home page. Which page?
