Aftermarket scope caps

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get scope caps for my athlon helos 2-12x42?

they don’t come with them from the factory, and I contacted athlon who said they don’t carry caps to fit them.

I did for a couple of their scopes, and they told me what size Butler Creek to get.

You might want to check with MK Machining to see if they are making them. I would call since I just looked and couldn’t find them on their site.

Measure carefully the OD of objective and ocular ends of your scope, then go to Butler Creek caps and order according to you scope size. I have used them for many years with no issues.

I have a few brands. For my last two Athlons I got the Vortex defender scope caps. I like em. I last ones were 19 each off amazon.

I too have the Vortex Defender caps and they work great. They fold flat against the scope top. Lifetime warranty against breakage as well.

The wife likes having scope caps and on all her Athlons , I have put these on them...Great caps they have held up really well....Nice rubber "boot" that stretches and stays in place when mounted.....Just measure and order.....If I ran scope caps these would be them and at $10.00 each they are very affordable.

In my limited experience the Vortex Defender caps are very durable for a slip on caps. Athlon is good about sending you free caps, great customer service but I can't seem to get the 56mm to last the 44mms have yet to fail.

I contacted athlon, and they don’t make scope caps for this scope bc of the 42mm objective lense. They actually got back to me this afternoon and recommended butler creek. Lol

I have Vortex Defenders on all my optics. They run a little thick so take that into consideration if the objective is low.

Fitted the butler creek caps. They fit perfectly. Not sure how I feel about the lever flip up eye relief cap though. Guess we’ll see if it holds up!

I've been using Butler Creek scope caps since the 1990's and can't recall ever having a problem with them. The only other brand I've tried is Tenebraex just for the sake of trying something different. That's just my experience though and I'm not purposely abusing them. They should hold up fine.
