After years of "hem hawing" around....I finally got an air rifle and having fun!

First time to post on this forum. So hello to all y'all, hope everybody is well. I've been reading on here for a little while and it's quite interesting sometimes. Like most I guess, I started out with an air rifle many moons ago, as a kid, and probably sent a million pellets and BB's through the air and into many and various targets......MANY of which were critters of some sort. Past few years I have read, researched and studied (off and on) on "adult" air guns and have wanted to get one for some time. I have always loved hunting small game and figured it would be a lot of enjoyment with an air rifle. So....I brought an RWS Diana 34P a couple of weeks ago in .22. Absolutely love it!!! I have had so much fun with this rifle just shooting it at targets in my yard. I will soon take it to the woods and squirrel hunt with it. This gun definitely will shoot "minute of squirrel" groups. Fine quality of build on this rifle. Very accurate as well. I have found something that will provide a lot of smiles and joy.......for a while to come.

Yeah. I sort of did the same thing back about 8 years back. Give or take. I wanted a nice pellet rifle. So I looked and looked... and continued to search. The last thing I had was a 760 pump master back when I was a kid. Well other then a couple cheapO co2 pistols I had picked up at one point just to plink cans in my back yard. Though that 760 pumpmaster was the best thing I ever had. And I assure you I used the crap out of it as a kid who grew up in the country, when it was a time that someone walking around with a bb/pellet gun/rifle was nothing frowned on and seen a a normal thing. Hell, even wondering around with a firearm was no big issue when something was in season. Oh have times changed, and Im only 43. This was also in the state of California (Im in AZ now ans would never go back). I looked at the 760 in a Wally World and it just did not seem anything compared to what it was. This could of been just me as a grow up holding what felt like a toy. Now the break barrels felt right when held. Still some were obviously cheaply made. Anyway I ended up with a Benjamen Marauder gen1 in .22. Now I have several more airguns and the Marauder has had a major overhaul over the last several years. Even though I no longer shoot it much I still mess with it.

Good times are ahead of you.

The Diana's are expensive for the power they produce. Which compares to other, less expensive Hatsan, Crosman, Winchester, Umarex, etc break barrels. But they are of very good quality and the stocks are beautiful in regard to minimalism. I like that personally. And they are accurate. My first pellet gun I bought myself was the 760 Powermaster variant 1, built 6/70, 2nd from the top. It and a slew of other vintage Crosman's have found their way into my collection. So be prepared, you've just opened Pandora's box!
