After Polishing Barrel With JB Paste

hey dont buy barrel remove you moderator and shoot a few groups , and post them with and with out moderator , If you say crown is good , I assume you mean you put it on a lathe and barrel is square and straight ? hey shoot groups if you think it is barrel , I can put it on my lathe and spin it by eye a bad crown is almost impossible to see . but hatsan sells barrels

I have had square shrouds on my hatsan btg5 and it was all over as it clipped moderator ,

secondly polishing barrel wont boost power , if you want to boost power you need to change hst or weight or port sizes , as far as some shoot hi and some low sounds like you clipping

I agree, I have a similar experience, where the pellet was flying to close to the inside of the moderator. But no evidence of clipping. In my case it had very tight groups at 50 yards but at 100 it opened up terrible. I drilled the moderator over size 030 to the solved problem with no difference in the DB level. The gun shoots exceptional groups at 100 yards now.

Hi

I remember back in the early days pcp’s when everyone was shooting Marauders there was this tuner out west who suggested staying away from JB.
He put out a procedure of polishing the barrel with a paper towel wrapped around a bore brush that was one caliber smaller than the bore being polished.
His polish if choice was Mothers Mag wheel polish as it was gentler than JB which he said in his experience was too hard on Airgun barrels.
It also depends on the technique and how aggressive you were when polishing. Lots of variables to consider.
Anyway just throwing in my 2cents.
Good luck.

Still waiting. The availability date keeps slipping every two days. Hmmm. Not happy with that. I already spent the money, so one day I will get a surprise in the mail.

I am rolling the dice and waiting till the barrels are in stock to try to purchase one also.

I tried to get kral's ear on facebook and managed to get a response from kral's export manager who just blew smoke up my butt. I am disgusted with what customer service has come to.

"Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement barrel for a Kral puncher pro 500?"

The Pro500 uses the same barrel as the Breaker. Don't buy the knight barrel. It won't fit the shroud and barrel support needed to keep it centered in the shroud.

Troy, do you happen to have the O.D. of the knights barrel in . 22??

Jim, all Kral Puncher Barrels 177,22,25 are 14mm main diameter. All come threaded ½-20 and are all machined to fit every breech in the Puncher series. The Jumbo, Bigmax, Pitbull and Knight have longer barrels though. They are the full length of the shroud and have a different shroud end cap that retains and centers the barrel. No issues using a longer barrel on the Beaker or Mega because the half shroud threads on to the end of the barrel. In the Pro500 however the cap and current barrel retainer won't fit within the length of the shroud with the longer barrel so without custom machine work you won't be able to center it.

I mic'd one of mine 0.550" to 0.553" (muzzle and breech)

New barrel with the stock transfer port, old barrel with the Troy special over bore TP.

Easy to drill out, used two bits to reach 13/64 final diameter. Now the new barrel matches the Troy special.

I scared the rifling as a result of getting multiple pellets jammed at the choke. Mechanical force did not remove the pile of pellets. I used a weed burner to gently heat the barrel over a large area then the melted lead rolled right out.

The barrel shoots 90%, but I still doubt that last 10%. It could just be me, but the barrel was not expensive.. so why not?
