I ended up ordering a FX Wildcat MKI .177 in walnut. Now the wait begins.

I have this condition called airgunitis. I couldn’t shake the desire for a bull pup air rifle. Before any purchases I started low ($ wise) and went high then came down to the middle somewhat. I didn’t really know what I wanted but over time I had an idea. I ran across a WTS ad and it happened to be in my area so I headed over to try it out.

Long story short, I met another a local airgunner (good guy) but didn’t go with the rifle he had for sale. I also found out that I really liked the wildcat so that set my mind on what I wanted to get. I found a great deal on a new MKI and ordered it today!

Just thought that I would share my exciting news. If any of you would like to share any tips, tricks or images of your wildcats, please do. It should keep me occupied until mine shows up and I can join the club!
 
You'll love the .177 Wildcat - it is my usual shooter. The ST barrel prefers 10.3jsb in the 18-19.5 FPE range (890-925). Mine came shooting hot (22fpe) and needed to be turned down some. If needed, a swab with acetone (just a little bit) will unlock the loctite on the HST. Once you find the sweet spot you will need to re-loctite the HST to keep it from backing out. Some wildcats have reg creep, not too unusual - you can blow off 2-3 shots at the beginning of the string or get a HUMA. I get 90+ shots on reg with the HUMA - your mileage may vary. Even with the HUMA some wildcats still need the first two shots blown off - I have no idea why. Extra Mags are available on eBay - mostly from the UK.

You will love it.

Looks great CHUCK! How did you do it and what did you use?

On my Streamline I just used some Watco Danish Oil and furniture wax to add some slight depth to the wood. It will get dull with use but I just wipe a little wax on then polish it off and it’s back to a satin finish. I’m thinking I may actually apply some sort of topcoat to it some day. Maybe just a spray can lacquer and rub it to whatever sheen I want (usually satin).
