After 4000 doves and pigeons in the last 5 days

Im 4 more days in and have gone to afternoon hunt only. Still getting in 200 shots but my percentages have gone down as the birds are getting jumpy. Tomorrow will most likely be my last day I am getting tired, one does not realize the effort in making good shots. Fun but it gets to be work. Think I got a couple vidson the ATN Scope we will see tomorrow. Not EZ, spot bird , focus, turn on vid, Dam bird just few, try again hurry hurry miss try afgain think I got it. We will see.

Ok did kinda sort of pellet count and it appears about 5500 birds took a permanent nap. Now recocery, beer, sun and tanning. Clean the guns of cow dust also known as bull chit dust. Get air somewhere, I'm in Casa Grande ideas? Stopped at AOA for a pellet recharge and to view different guns. Maybe find a place to shoot and see if grouping has changed. Longest shot was in the 80yard range, never tried longer. MAN even the 4runner smells like chit. Heres a hunter lover.

The only way to get rid of the smell is to get rid of the truck. I’ll be out there in March and may try to break your record. I shot 300 collared dove in 3 hours while sitting in one place. I had a chair with a table, my cooler, pellets and air. Had a blast! I used a big aluminum grain shovel to pick up the birds. I’ve cleaned 250 doves at one time and it’s no fun.

I want in on that ! I’m can’t even imaging having that many targets to shoot ! I’m chomping at the bit for spring to come , I’ve got 150 strawberry plants in my back yard that bring in droves of gophers/ground squirrels. They like to take one bite of each berry ! I went as far as putting a window in my attic storage room upstairs this winter so I’ve got a nice concealed perch to snipe from .

To get the smell out the ride you must shampoo the floor mats disinfect the insides and leave the windows down over night. Also you must not get inside the vehicle with the same clothes on you have to bag them up.

P.s

Take vehicle to a car wash that washes the undercarriage as the tires kick up the muddy poop underneath. Hope this helps! Geoff
